I've been with Telefonica since December and although we had a major problem for the first couple of months with the connection keep dropping, it's been really steady.

My main problem is that they take random amounts out of our bank account every month and we've NEVER EVER had a bill......

Despite several calls to them, I can't seem to get any evidence from them of why they charge me different ammounts every month. We don' use the phone apart from free calls.

I di notice that the Euro Weekly has teamed up with a telecoms company and are offering pretty good deals, EWTELCO 3mb for 39 euros including line rental.

Anyone have any info on this?

I am really keen to move from Telefonica at the end of my year contract, but fire and frying pans are springing to mind.

I know of some communities that have installed wireless internet and it works fine and owners are able to bring out laptop and connect and make skype calls etc

They pay a small annual fee.

Anyone interested I can give you details ....

Hi Kenny

Why don't you register for online billing? I have e-mail alerts set up so I know when the new bill has arrived. It can be a bit tricky to set up if your Spainish is not great, I got a friend to help me with the process all you need is your account number and either your NIE or passport.

I can now see the bill before its due, I have also cancelled the direct debit, I would rather pay the bill at the post office when I'm happy with it. The most common mistakes seem to be charging for enhanced maintenance agreements at 5 euros a month and charging for a handset you don't have.

We will have to see how EWN's offering pans out, the initial promo for the adsl is not as good as the Movistar deal.

My1st contract/package with Telefonica was for 3mb for the price of Imb At the end of the first year they telephoned me and offered me a 3mb package   for a year which works out 50cents a month cheaper and the  1stmonth was at half price I can't understand from the bill how they arrived at that figure but who cares

Hi Team GB

I did call a couple of times to 1004. I was told in the last call that I was now on online billing but she said that they don't send emails...... She gave me a username and a password but they just don't work...

The last time I called she said that she would try......two minutes later she told me that it didn't work for her either but it was a temporary glitch....

I've still never managed to get on......Going to call again today.

Only ever got one bill for services. I tried registering for online and got a username, but no password!! I have sent several times for a password reminder, but none ever turns up at my postal address.I did also notice that they had applied Canguro Net to my account which was free for the first 3 months, then was chargeable at a few €'s per month. A quick email had it removed. Don't forget, IVA also went up, so that would increase the monthly fee.

Mark, perhaps you could keep us updated with negotiations at the end of your 12 months.

I bet it isn't as easy as in the UK to move provider!! Ofcom look after us pretty well in the UK stating that we should get a MAC code to enable a seamless transfer of ADSL services. Not sure if the same sort of thing exists in Spain?

Called 1004 today again. Told the sorry tale to young lady. She tried to get my username and password to work without success and then said that they would send a new username and password to my postal address.......

No chance of that happening I don't think, if they can't get a bill to me in 10 months, how are they going to get the new details to me???

Blood boiling........is there an email address I can get them on?

Just reading your post and something rang a huge bell, I remember now, your username and password are THE SAME, I just tried on my account before posting here and yes, sure enough they are the same. I've just logged in and out ok.

Will be intresting to hear if Kenny can login now as he has a user name.

Edited to add

You can change your password after login

Sorry guys, doesn't work for me!

I await my new username and password with baited breath.

Seriously though, I am thinking of trying ewtelco in December.....

Just got an email from movistar outlining lots of offers, but maybe it's "new customers only"

Didn't work for me either . Decided to give the regenerate password route a go. TO generate a new password online, you have to have the current bill. No use to me then as I onlyever received one which was back in April . You can receive info to your mailbox with details how to reset. However, it sends to the email address registered with Telefonica (which I never did). After requesting the re- send details,  I was shown the address it was sent to which was myphonenumber@telefonica.net. Aha I thought, go into the webmail control panel (which I can access) and create a new email addrss. Problem: You can now only generat email addys ending in movistar.es.

In the words of Dick Dasturdly. Drat, drat and double drat!!!!

Sorry guys, I was convinced we had cracked it then, however I do clearly remember my Spanish friend telling me that the user name and password had to be the same until you loged in for the first time, I have not bothered to change mine since, anyway persevere you will get there in the end.

Finally got online access . I managed to reset my password, put in a new contact email address and am exploring. I have found out why I have not been receiving bills, they have been going to the wrong address!!! Funny, my package shows me as having voice, internet and TV???? Not received anything about TV, but the price I pay isn't including the TV anyway, so a little confused .

I have tried to log in using the username and password provided but apparently my name is not registered for my telephone number. Funny that they don't have any difficulty sending me a bill with my name and telephone number

Does anyone have an email address that I can write to giving all the details of my billing problem?

I've scanned the site umpteen times and can't see anything!
