latest news on Spanair below which seems like bankrupcy is inevitable. This on a day when it was announced over 5 million unemployed in Spain, not the best day for Rajoy and Spain.
PRESS RELEASE
- Spanair reports that the company has taken the decision this afternoon of
the cessation of operations from tonight. The last commercial flight
will land at 22.00 hours on January 27, 2012.
- Spanair has officially communicated this decision to the
Spanish aviation. Throughout the day, the direction of Spanair
AENA has coordinated with the authorities and the Ministry of
Development to ensure proper contingency plan in
airports.
- Given the lack of financial visibility for the next months, the
company has decided to cease operation of its flights as a measure
of prudence and safety, and take all appropriate legal
pertinent.
- Users who had planned to fly with Spanair or had
purchased a ticket with our company for the next few days,
weeks or months have full information on our website
www.spanair.com web on how to proceed. we have arranged
a telephone in the Spanair Center to help meet the passengers. the
telephone number is 902.13.14.15
- The location of Spanair regrets and apologizes to all those
people who are affected by this situation. And grateful for the
understanding and support of the aeronautical authorities and other
aerolinia that will facilitate the reallocation of passengers.
- The location of Spanair, the time it wishes to acknowledge the enormous and
continuous effort by employees of the company,
shareholders, and government entities in this project
collective.
