Hi I´m new to this site and would like to ask for some help and advice please. After 3 years am returning to Spain,I am driving from Santander to Torrevieja via Zaragoza and am trying to find out how much the tolls are to travel to the A-23 and Ap 7, it will just be myself and my daughter travelling so I´m trying to leave nothing to chance as I´m a bit paranoid about 2 women travelling and being a target for the sharks out there!

Unless you have a specific reason for going via Zaragosa, the quickest (and best roads) are the A31 from Madrid. The only tolls on the whole route are the ring road round Madrid which are a couple of euros. No tolls on the other roads until you get to Torrevieja which you avoid bt coming off at Torrevieja Norte at Quesada. Else both the tolls by La Zenia are 2 euros each. The A31 has had extensive work done over the last couple of years and are nice, good surfaces and quiet. With a couple of comfort stops along the way, about 9 hours in total. Just the Santander to Burgos bit which is not all motorway.
Santander to Burgos.
Burgos to Madrid taking the R3 around Madrid
Madrid to Albacete
Albacete to Elche
Elche to Torrevieja
ViaMichelin website will print out complete instructions and prices for you.

Thanks so much for the advice but I was put off of going via Madrid so that's why have chosen this route, I've now booked a really nice over night stop in Zaragoza as well :-) For some reason Viamichelin don't want to give me cost of tolls, just petrol. Thanks anyway.

fyi.

you can read various things about sharks and bandits on various roads across spain (in the same way you can about any country)

but i have personally to meet anyone that has ever been targeted or had a problem on the roads.

it makes big news when someone is and does somewhat blow it out of proportion.

Just be vigilant as one normally would be and you should be fine

Going that way, there are no tolls which is why via Michelin doesn't give any costs.
