Yesterday it was announced that the "LEY DE COSTAS" in La Comunidad Valenciana will be modified and the new law will save nearly 3000 properties from being knocked down. In certain areas of the Valencian coastline, streching from Elche, Alicante up to Castellon. The new law will give coverage to areas that are already developed by reducing the public domain of the coast from 100m to 20m. Tha law also increases the license period on businesses on the coast by another 75 years. This means that many businesses along the coat will start to invest in their businesses again as many feared to invest more money thinking their businesses would be knocked down in 2018. Properties that will be saved lie in the area of Moncofa,Cabanes,Almenara, Xilxes,Nules, Serra Grossa,Santa Pola, Arenales del Sol,Pinet, Guardamar,Denia,El Saler y Oliva. In total it is thought that around 3000 properties fall under the new "protection" conditions.
Another modification to the law means that "events and festivals/parties" of interest to tourists will be allowed again on the beach. So "San Juan bonfires" will return, concerts, sporting events and other activities will be permitted on the beach. This is a step forward to help boost tourism in the area.
Has this change in the law affected anyone on EOS?
