I recently bought a Minix Neo X7, it's supposed to be one of the best Android boxes, I installed the app from Filmon (you'll find it through Google in seconds) and I can watch all english channels except Sky, you can watch them for free in normal quality and with ads, or you pay around 100,00 euro per year and you watch in HD.

I live in Cambrils near Salou and a have a 1.5 metre dish. What are my options? A bigger dish or getting it moved.

BBC Change overs completed on 2E. ITV & 4's to follow, probably early hours tomorrow morning.

Tests / reports are coming in at the moment. In CB South we have reports of the BBC channels on these frequencies losing reception on 1-1.1 metre dishes, 1.8 / 1.9 metre dishes are o.k, other dish sizes tests underway.

Early reports from Costa Blanca North is some are receiving the changed BBC's on a 1.1 metre dish (though this may be very close signal wise)

If you have lost your BBC's this morning, please post up your location & dish size.

BBC1 HD Scotland & Wales (also BBC 4) are still on Astra 2F on 11023 H 23000 8psk - so if you were receiving this frequency, you should still be o.k with these channels.

10773 H 22000
10788 V 22000
10803 H 22000
10818 V 22000
10847 V 23000 8psk
10862
10876
10921
10935

More to follow, engineers running around like headless chickens testing everything...

OK we know many of us have lost BBC and possibly from now on ITV soon. Can we please turn this into a what now? Where we know our options to investigate form now on. For example I have SKY don't what to give it up so for example is this Android box a realistic option? I always heard that you had to have a thing that hid you IP addy. I was using an expat one on my PC but then it didn't download very onto my new pc so have not used it anymore. Plus I want to be able to watch on my TV.

Thanks in advance!

Filmon works with any IP-address, and you don't really need an android box, you can use your laptop and connect it to your tv, it all depends on what you are using it for, an android box is just an easy solution,

when you use your laptop to watch tv, you can't use it for anything else while you are watching tv,

I bought my Minix Neo X7 from Amazon Germany for 120,00 euro

Not sure about the comment about IPTV salesman being correct !!

With the correct system all is workinmg fine in costa blanca.

Our 1.2 mtr famaval high gain and extra strong LNB are working good 1.4 mtr perfect. The only difference as we predicted is that the 1 mtr is struggling. Our shop in sna miguel has a 1.1 mtr on the roof and I am watching BBC as I type !!

Very happy and pleased  to put an end to rumours at last

Fonziedas, was your Minix Neo 7 easy to configure?  I've just been looking at that and it comes with good reviews.  Just wondered how easy it was to configure for use with streaming live TV.

Edited to say that I just remembered your earlier post where you mentioned downloading the Filmon app. smiley

Good afternoon. Firstly, I want to say how helpful the forum has been, thank you.
I have downloaded the Filmon app to my tablet and it's great for the lost channels especially using a speaker.
What do I need to get this app going through my television and how would I do it ?
This would be temporary. We go back to UK next week and when we return to Marbella for four weeks in April we intend to sort things out permanently and purchase a new television at the same time.
By the way, our broadband is a shared service and not set up in our apartment.
Thank you.

(Sorry for the previous interrupted message!)

I've just googled FIlmon and there is a warning from Google saying that the website may be hacked by a third party and with the following

'Often a hacker will modify existing pages or add spam content of their own. For example, visitors may be exposed or redirected to spam or malware. We recommend that you do not visit the website until you no longer see this label in Google's search results. If you know the owner of this website, please alert them to the situation.'

I think what be may aiding confusion is people are posting from different locations. One satellite company (1st post) claims a 1.1 is working in San Miguel - this may well be true. However 10 km's away a 1.1 is not working. Since this morning we have 1 metre, 1.1, 1.4 & 1.9 all tuned and tested.

It is quite apparent that there is more of a degree of drop off or regional variation than there was previously & with further changes ocurring and with many different locations Costa Blanca will not be the same as Costa del Sol (who are losing channels).

Based on our initial findings a 1.4 should be o.k (by our signal values) in most CBS locations, however we already have reports from other satellite companies to say this is not the case 100%

Also spotted a post on another forum from a supplier claiming 15000 Famaval dishes supplied, with no phone calls today on any of the 1.37 Famaval dishes sold. On the same very forum was threads from the same area with the same dish stating otherwise.

The dust has not yet settled and some information being put out simply is jumping the gun or possibly a little optimistic.

For those in Costa Blanca North it would appear a 1.1 will do the job & we are even getting mixed reports from Costs del Sol - with most losing though a couple of people inland a little getting signal on a 1.8

Thanks to Televisiontechnology for all the helpful posts - do you know if all the different channel transfers to the new satellite have now been done?

No, not all done yet. Mainly the remaining ITV's the plus ones and the 4's which are on 1N still, with a few minor channels.

We thought would happen last night, but did not. Did notice some signals moving up and down yesterday, indicating that perhaps there was some further tweaking to the beams / transponder power. Though it could also indicate some of the weaker frequencies are on the edge of reception in some locations and time of day (geo stationary orbit of satellite) could also be the contributing factor. Too early to tell.

Further change may happen over the weekend - though nothing official announced.

Originally they stated changes would be completed by mid Feb, so could be up to another week, though there is not really that much left to move.

ITV have said their channels will be moving Tuesday.

Not too sure if that is ealr Tuesday morning, or Tuesday night / Wednesday morning.

But expect the same changes for ITV as you have found for BBC.

Nothing from C4 yet, but as they only operate two frequencies, perhaps they will move at the same time as ITVs.

As for differences in reception reports for people with the same dish, am finding that many of these are down to poor installation and poor alignment of dishes. Went to a number yesterdy where dishes that should have been fine, were not getting BBC channels, a bit of tweaking and realignment, and the channel back in.

I'm hearing Tuesday a.m wondering if that means as per previous very early hours of the morning?

In our location CB South near Almoradi we set up a new 1.4 & been monitoring since, perfectly tuned we are still have issues with the lower horiztontal & vertical frequencies 10803, 10773 horizontals, both weak. 10818 V is the strongest, no sign of 10847 and 11023 on 2F seems to have weakend in power and no sign of on our test dish - Which is not supposed to have changed? I think they have been shifting around power levels of the transponder?

Getting a real bag of mixed reports in  Torrevieja - Orihuela Costa, seems to be close with the 1.37's - 1.4's but also getting reports of people that have noticed no change with that size dish. Certainly nearby our location theres a lot to still get to the bottom of.

Monitoring times of day now. Those with 1.8/1.9 dishes no reported problems in CB South.

Additionally in all of our communities from Benidorm to La Manga - most have 2.4 metre dishes, though around a third have 1.9's also no problems, not one reported call.
