are correos liable for compensation
The Comments |
Hi, I am still waiting for delivery of a parcel from the uk. The seller placed tracking on it with royal mail and correos web page shows that as at the 8th october the parcel is in delivery process. I live near La Cala so not miles away from civilisation.
The contents of the parcel cost me about £50.00 including postage so I want to take some action but I dont know what action I can take against corroes. I would be interested to know whether anyone else has encountered this problem and what action was taken. Thanks Nic.

Just like in UK, any package using more than one carrier is not compensated for unless it was registered. If you send a package from Spain to UK then Royal Mail will not enteratain a compensation claim because Correos was involved. I would imagine the Correos would have the same rules as Royal Mail were involved (where did it go missing? Could Royal Mail be at fault instead of Correos?).
Still, no harm in trying. Pop along to Correos and see if there procedures are different to the UK one.

Hi bobaol, thanks for that. The parcel has gone missing in spain. It clearly was handled by correos hence their computer tracking shows that it is in delivery process in this country. As correos have control over the parcel I assume that they are resposible should they fail to deliver it. I think a visit to my local post office may bring forth further info otherwise
as you say it maybe worth trying to make a complaint against correos.
