Dishwasher
The Comments |
Hi. Sorry if this has been covered but I did a search and nothing obvious showed up. I'd like to take a dishwasher out from UK to Spain. I'm sure fittings will be different. Can anyone give me a list of possible sizes of connectors, washers or whatever I may need please? Any help appreciated and I can hopefully take a range of bits and pieces out with me in readiness. Thanks in advance.

Other than power most fittings should be the same.

Our UK dishwasher fitted straight in. Just put new washers in the pipe at both ends (available from any Bricolaje) and a plug adaptor.

Please cut off and dispose of the 13a UK plug top and fit a 16a continental plug to your appliance, as using it with an adaptor will lead to overheating at this connection and is a major fire risk

Good advice from mgk
Adapters should only be used as a last resort e.g. some chargers that have built in transformers to the plug, (even then best to buy a Spainish version where possible) and only for low power equipment and for short periods of time.
Changing a plug is not difficult just remember to buy the correct rated plug and buy from a reputable shop (not the local chinese bric a brac or even markets).
Adapters are really meant for when you are travelling
