Motor Homes
The Comments |
Hi, we are considering coming over to Spain to rent long term, but thinking of buying a motor home as well. Does anyone know if they are cheaper to buy in Britain or Spain. Hubby wants LHD as he would rather drive on 'the wrong side' when we are in Britain where he is used to the roads over here, than over there where we hope to travel into other countries at times. Thanks.

Have a look at the Motorhome Fun website, lots of useful info. Your best option is to buy new or secondhand from Germany and import to UK and get UK registration, lots of advice on MOtorhome Fun forum re this. Also look at Mobile.de, this is a vehicle website, there is a drop down menu for languages and trade and private sales are included.
good luck.

I guess things have changed since 1997, but then motorhomes and caravans in Spain were very inferior, especially compared with those in USA where I owned a 30 footer for 6 months. It was an ‘entry level’ RV (recreational vehicle) costing 75,000 USD as almost new.
At that time people using motor homes / caravans in Spain were looked at as gypsies pr worse.
I would look at other alternatives, like importing but I understand that can difficult and expensive.
