Lost logbbook
The Comments |
Hi, I have recently lost my spanish car logbook and have been told that it will cost 260euros to replace. Does anyone know if this is correct? I would be grateful for any info.
Thanks Manny

Hi Manny
Found this on another forum.Hope someone else can confirm these details for you.
"You need to go to the traffic office in La Linea (just down from the border point) and report it. When you have found your way through the beaurocracy (the pain) you will be issued with temporay docs and you will need to have your car tested (ITV). Having done that, you go back to La Linea again and you will be issued with new docs. It will cost you about 20 euros . If your Spanish is limited it would be worthwhile taking a Spanish speaking person with you."
The two nearest Trafico offices are in Mlága City or La Linea.
Good Luck

I think you will need to have made a denuncia (loss report) to provide to Trafico.
You can give the info on line in English, 8am until 8 pm on 902 102 112, and then go to the NATIONAL POLICE STATION which you have nominated to make the report. They will use the info you provided on the telephone for that. However, if you do not go to the police station (to make the report) no report will exist.
