I dont think anyone who does what they can to help maintain or improve things is a power mad saddo.

Many do it for the benefit of others as well as protecting their own investments.

Why do so many people assume they can just sit back in the sun with a beer and its all going to be done for them.

"Somebody should do something"        Who exactly is this somebody?

Take some responsibility in life. and give something back.

After reading aliton's post I'm surprised that the pigs haven't complained about the residents. laugh

There is an element of " I'm alright,Jack", some people are happy to sit back, their priorities being sunbathing, fags and booze, and they are the first to moan when there's a problem, but the majority is  community minded , and have formed all sorts of organisations and charities to help people of all nationalities.

What Aliton fails to understand, is that a lot of people  on Camposol cannot enjoy what time they have left, as they have had terrible problems with their properties, and have been let down

i remember Aliton not being very sympathetic when the bridge between C and D could not be used, due to damage by flood waters, with the result  that many on Camposol were enraged.

Aliton no doubt enjoyed all the benefits of living on Camposol, some of which were due to the community spirited volunteers giving their time up to make Camposol a better place.

Power mad? I think not!

I am a member of the CRA and all I say about this proposed pig farm is that the application for a license is in the early stages l personally don't think it will get planning permission l have heard that the proposal is for around 16,000 pigs go run a live stock farm of this size would take some management with a large number of employees the investment to set the farm up would would run into the tens of millions because of the strict EU rules in force I don't think it will go ahead  the land required would for this project would be bigger than the Camposol urbanizations.

I'm not sure how much land would be needed for such a large number of pigs. I remember reading about intensive indoor farms, where the pigs are not outside at all. Spain isn't a country to care much about animal welfare and tend to keep animals in spaces that would be considered unethical in the UK.

The number of pigs is apparently 11,900

There has already been a pig farm on this site, so it would just be starting up again.

There are huge pig and chicken farms near villages, and I don't think  the Spanish planning office are too worried about smells

16 year's ago it use to be a pig farm so it is not just a matter of starting up again that is why they had to apply for planning consent the so called farm if it goes ahead will be bigger than the Camposol urbanization and cost tens of millions to set up just think of the animal   wast that they will have to dispose of  on a daily basis  and the control of the toxic gas that will be produced  this will also have to be kept under strict control we are talking about a huge industry .

Well looking on the positive side, Islamic State are hardly likely to use Camposol as a boot camp. cheeky

Its interesting that "Camposol" never comments on the "camposol community" page on this website. !

Hey Camposol..Dont think its the residents who "sunbath, like booze and fags"  who are the "first to moan"  You hold that title Campo.

Regarding the bridge collapse.... no idea what you mean. But  out of interest, the Residents of Pooley Bridge in Cumbria have been cut off due to bridge collapse for 4 months. I remember residents on CRA community site "going bananas" because the local council didnt act fast enough for them . This is the same council that is trying to work with camposol residents and the CRA who are threatening Legal Action on a regular basis against the "Lady Mayor" . Not a good idea and im sure lots of members dont agree with this approach.

If you want to rock the boat in Spain as ex pats and get no cooperation from Spanish Councils..... thats the way to do it.

I think you must have selective amnesia, Aliton.

I seem to remember you,  as a then member of the CRA, that you made light of the situation when the bridge between C and D was damaged by the floods, and was unable to be used.

your comments infuriated some of those affected, resulting in you leaving the CRA

of course, if I am mistaken, and that was a different Aliton, I apologise.

As for  moaning, some of us on Camposol  actually tried to help Camposol to be a better place to live, unlike others!

According to my information, as one directly involved in the complaints, Planning Permission has not yet been approved. The applicant was under the impression that an Environmental Report/Asessment from the Regional Authority was not required, and that only a report from the Municipal Environment Department was needed.  After much complaining and communication with the Regional Authority, we are informed by the Council that an Environmental Report from the Region is awaited and that permission is still pending.
