Finding the best mortgage

Hi Smiley hope you dont mind me asking but have just looked on your website Marbella mortgages but i cant find any costs of using a broker to get a mortgage on there , also was very interested to see they can get 80% mortgages for non residents if i have understood it correctly 

Sorry read the 80% wrong , thats only for tax payers in Spain

Hi Bev - yes the absolute maximum for non residents is 70% although subject to profile there could be a good reason for recommending a maximum of 60% - some of the 70% lenders insist on a single premium life insurance policy (the sort of thing that has been deemed illegal in the UK and subject to PPI claims). I have heard of instances where the borrower hasnt even known about the policy until they arrive at Notary on completion day. To add insult to injury, while the lender wont lend any more for the mortgage they are willing to lend the money for the insurance premium (this is likely to be in the tens of thousands of Euros subject to lives assured, amount of cover, term etc) at personal loan rates
