Well, it's not all sun and sangria in Spain. On our recent trip we had the mother of all thunderstorms. Burriana beach was washed away, there were several landslides, roads collapsing, and apparently the mud is still inches deep on the roads. I've some great photos that prove it but I don't know how to put them on the forum.

OK, so here in the Midlands it got to 18 deg C and the sun has been poking out all day.
I go onto a webcam of the CB and there is rain all along the seafront and the waves are crashing over the seats we normally sit on. Valencian newspaper online has pictures of houses flooded out and torrents of rain rushing down the streets.
I went shopping with my wife today and a short-sleeved polo shirt was ample. Someone e-mailed me from Spain to say they are wearing a fleece and their brolly got blown inside out.
Could there really be something in this climate change theory? Should I be looking at buying a holiday home in Skegness rather than the Spanish costas?

Yes here on the east coast I have been sitting in the sun in my garden topping up the tan (from last weekend in Spain) Mind you it is south facing with a 6ft fence all around it. Still know where I would rather be.... stick to buying in Spain bobaol!

I remember going to Skegness years ago, the water was brown ( with what??) and it was cold, even in August. The poor donkeys looked awful, but the fish and chips were good and so was the seaside rock!! However, you can get good fish and chips here and even Torrevieja rock!! So I'll stay here, rain or no rain!!

Hmm... Never been to Skegness myself but I remember taking my grandson to Great Yarmouth when he was about 5. I think his first words were "why isn't the sea blue?" Horrible, brown North sea (in August), I came down with tonsillitis, never went in the sea because it was either freezing or a 3 mile walk along mud flats to get to, lovely British holidaymakers dumping dirty nappies and broken bottles on the beach. And to cap it all, the caravan site next to where we were staying was roped off because some bloke had gone in and killed his wife and terrorised his 2 young kids. Maybe the UK coast is best avoided, after all.
Mind you, still looking at pictures of the CB and it doesn't look very enticing at the moment. Hope it stops raining by December.
