external drive vs usb
The Comments |
Hi, I download a great many movies and old uk tv sitcoms which I load onto a portable hard drive.
I purchaed a 1000gb 3.0 external hard drive about a year ago which is now full. this drive cost oabout €55.00
I have looked on amazon for another hard drive and have come across 1000gb 3.0 usb [ memory sticks ] for about half the price of portable hard drives.
I am not tech minded and whilst I think I should get a usb there might be a good tech reason why I should get another hard drive.
Can anyone please advise. thanks nic.

USB memory sticks are for data collection .. commonly known as a flash drive..if you are into collecting movies a External hard drive will do a better job.

In general, the external hard drive has larger capacity comparing the flash drive. The main reason lies in the storage media. You can now get a 28TB drive but it costs.

I will say one thing about USB flash drives, I bought two expensive well know ones, well know make also, one lost all Mrs B's photos after a while for no reason that we could work out, my one told me it was corrupted so wouldn't work. Got two external large GB's hard drives so far no problems....Or shouldn't I say that?
