Exchanging properties?
The Comments |
Hi everyone,
We are one of the many people who have put a deposit on a house on a development being built (or not!) by San Jose at Santa Ana Del Monte, Jumilla in Murcia.
The builder has problems with getting the licences, our house was supposed to be finished in December 2007 and now has a revised date of December 2008...at the earliest. The builder has had our deposits since May 2006. After much wrangling we have been offered a similar property on another of their developments (Playa Golf III) near Campoamor and we have to pay some difference in price.
Has anyone else been offered this? Does anyone live on Playa Golf III and if so what is it like? We are going over in March but any feedback would be appreciated in helping make our decision.
Thanks Myra and Davy.

HI Myra if you dont want to complete and the builder is overdue then you have legal recourse - speak to your lawyer to establish the exact situation or if your lawyer is uncooperative Maria de Castro on this forum - the builder does have some leeway on timescales but it doesnt extend to hell freezing over - assuming you get your deposits back you can then consider one of the better value properties that are all over the place from people who are not able to complete or wish to resell that they have completed on.
