Post box

I am moving over to Spain on 12-08-08 and am renting a small villa, its not on an urb but in a small group of 6...no community fees etc... Where to I get my post sent to...what is my postal address 1. Do I set something up with the local Correos? 2. Some of the supermarkets have post boxes, whats the difference between that and the Correos? Many thanks

Ask the people you're renting from what the address is.

Isn't there a post box at your rental ? I appreciate it's not on a community but the Correos do deliver to private post boxes sometimes, depends how it's set up so I'd ask the owner what the answer is. In our town the Correos will keep mail for two weeks then send it back to sender. You have to go into the Correos, stand in a queue, often long too & take passport to prove your ID. Then they disappear into the great unknown & eventually come back with nothing or in our case someone else's ! Other than that you can rent a post box at various places though I believe you often have to wait for one to become available. I think the post boxes at various outlets are much more easily accessed than using the Correos. Check position with owner, I'd say. May be an easy answer.
