Diabetes in Spain

Hi Everyone

My name is Mike and I live up in Torrevieja, Nr Alicante.  Reason for my post is that I have just setup a new website called Diabetes in Spain.

I have had type 1 diabetes for the last 11 years and have been out here for 6 years.

After searching for decent information for healthcare in Spain and specifically Diabetes, i deceided that there was really nothing!  So my site was born!!  :--)

The intention of the site is to provide a one stop resource for persons with diabetes, persons with diabetes in Spain, there carers, fiends, family and anyone else who has an interest in Diabetes.  I'm hoping to have plenty of user generated content and will continue to find good relevant new stories.

Please, please do get in touch if you have any inormation, news, stories, advice that you would ike to share or perhaps know someone who does.

Please do spread the word as this is not a mickey mouse expat site, nor are its intentions.

morerosado - I'm aware of the use of signatures to place links to certain sites etc.. However, measures are in place to prevent new members or persons that have not posted anything from placing links in there posts/threads.  Hence the way I have done them.

fibbyuk - Again thanks, I hope the site will become a useful tool in the Diabetes Management.  If I can be of personal help then please feel free to get in touch via the site.  Being a newbie, you will obviously be taking in lots of information from lots of different sources.

If you feel that there is anything missing please get in touch with your suggestions, as I am sure I will forgot some bits initially.

Seeing as you hadn't created a signature with your website I thought I'd try & help as I thought you didn't realise you could, most don't.

Question: Are you saying even a website can't be put in a signature now for new members as that is new to me. Others seem to have done it. I'm aware  you cannot post a link within the body of a post & certainly you're not permitted to post a website if it's your own within the body of your post.

Yes, it is all a lot to take in when this gets diagnosed.

I have had my 1st group 2 hr session with the Diabetes specialist.

It was very well presented and easy to understand.

Just have to get used to the monitoing process and change of lifestyle!

Glad you like the idea!  Stop by the site soon as content is changing daily from news through to videos.
