The service was suspended for a few months but is now up again.
Unfortunately it is in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian only and is only available daily from 8 am until 8 pm.
Also, the ability of the English translators is extremely poor. When the on-line informations are downloaded at the police station for the victims to sign, they contain many errors. I understand that the people being used as interpreters are serving police office and not professional translators, who may have been `press ganged’ into the work.
When I called to confirm the languages and the hours, having tried to ask in English, I was obliged to speak Spanish as the ‘interpreter’ did not understand me. (I speak non accented standard English).
Warning. If you make the report on line and there is no interpreter present at the station when you go to sign it, take as much care as you can to ensure it is correct.
Good luck.
