Just an update on our trip!! arrived Sunday at 10am having been awake all night ha!ha! only cos I couldn't sleep,other half doesn't have that problem,have apartment in Mar de Cristal for the week,very nice,but have decided it's not quite for me?? always nice for a holiday,but couldn't live permanently,so looking further north for something,detached,semi,all considered,.

Had a bad day yesterday,walked out of the apartment,umm only behind hubby,assumed he had the key!so b....r we were locked out, so as you can imagine the process to get back in on a SUNDAY!! but company were brill, got us out of it with minimal cost, and previous to that??better half said on Saturday-don't bother with euros will get them there??some chance at San Javier and ignorance followed, anyway went to Pepes in Mar De Cristal, couldn't take UK money or Card, but said "no problemo"!! got someone to say in Spanish we would be back to pay,and did exaclty that with a bit extra for the trust? Unbelievable really!!reminds me of what life used to be in the UK???

Today went to Sucina,just for a look at the developments,went to the British Supermarket then given directions for cafes, went to the first one and (we are totally illiterate in spanish)the people there tried really hard to give us what we were asking for and they did it!,so we were there longer than we should have been through learning words and they gave us a liquour with cream on top? so by the time we left we had gained mutual respect? thats the main thing to me!

Anyway!!if any of you estate agents have time to find me a property, you can pm me as I have found a wireless source!!

Hi Maggie, look for a solicitor in the area you buy your house, otherwise it's a nightmare!  If you're around Sucina and the inland developments steer clear of Valle del Sol where lots are illegal builds.  If you're looking on a golf course look at resales - they're selling off-plan but it's not a goood investment and you'll wait years (still waiting in Balsicas since 2004!).  Good luck!

Hi Maggie. If your thinking of looking further North, I'd recommend Moraira (north of Alicante/ Benidorm/Calpe). It was a small fishing village, but the Council have loads turning it up market and HIGH RISE is banned!! We're in San Jaime urbanisation which boasts street lights and daily postal delivery (handy). But property can get expensive, although with market as it is there are bargains to be had. Worth a look....

We are in the process of buying an apartment in a.c.c but have decided to cancel our contract with Huma.  We have been in touch with a firm in England called Inventory Solutions who we saw advertised in our local newspaper asking for people who feel they have been ripped off buying abroad.. They say they are willing to represent us that we have a good case to cancel, can you tell me if anyone else has heard of them and if they are a reputable firm.cant afford to be ripped off again.Thanks Alfie

Have you tried looking on Google, check them out, see if they are members of the regulatory body that encompasses Solicitors?

Or is anyone on EOS able to help Alfie?
