Hi
I'm in a different position to anyone else
I was told, having paid my first payment of £65,000 or 99,000 euros.as it was then, some 4 years ago, that it was an illegal build so for the last 3 years I have been trying to get my money back. I am due to be in court on the 28th of October with a Barrister and translator, supplied by Aldea.
What do I do now as Aldea have all the relevant paperwork?
Regards
Stuart

I am flying out to Spain next week.
I intend to visit Aldea's office in Cartagena.
Does anyone know if Aldea are still trading, and if their offices are still open?

I was in their Cartagena offices on Monday of last week, where I collected keys from a woman behind the desk. Whether it is open now, I just don't know. I was struck by the fact that there seemed to be no one else in the office!

I have e-mailed the administrators (twice now actually) and not had a reply. I was wondering if the fact that my email is in English would cause a problem? There's no way I would be able to translate it into spanish with the use of a dictionary and I have nobody to transalte for me. It would be the same problem if I needed to make a claim - it says on the email from the admin. that every document has to be sent in spanish - well even my receipt from aldea is in english so I wouldn't know where to begin! That's assuming they ever reply to me to let me know if they did pay my taxes or not!!

I have contacted the administrator and have had no reply either. I have been told that he probably cannot speak English very well. After I received the mail from Juan Carlos i phoned Aldea and they told me that was the wrong translation.
I stumbled across a site that has more information on it.
google aldea advisors and when the various options appear scroll down to AldeaAsesoresAdministration (Aldea Advisors) belegal. com and open it

That is the same email address I have been using Maria, but presumably your email would be in spanish!
We will only be creditors if they did not pay our tax bill with the money we took into them in June. Is there any other way we can find out if the taxes were paid?

I have just translated my original email to the Administrators into Spanish using a translation web site!!!!! Probably silly thing to do and goodness knows what it actually says! And I dont suppose I will understand the reply (should I get one) anyway!

Like others on here I have e-mailed Juan Carlos (The Administrator) with a number of queries.
My e-mail to him was in English.
As Aldea hold all my paperwork - Spanish property deeds, Spanish will, my Spanish tax returns, my English divorce papers and the Spanish translation of them - I have asked how I get them all back.
I have paid Aldea deposits for ongoing legal work and I have asked how I go about reclaiming them.
I also paid my 2008 tax bill to Aldea and do not know if they passed the money on. Again I have asked the Administrator to find out if my taxes were paid, or tell me how I do so.
No reply yet.
If I hear anything I shall post a reply on here.
In the meantime can anyone recommend a good, trustworthy law firm in Spain?
Ideally I would like one fairly close to Los Belones / La Manga as my apartment in Spain is at Mar de Cristal.

Well my Spanish email didn't do any better than the English version! Still no reply!
Does anybody know if there is any other way we can find out if our Non-residents tax bills were paid by Aldea? I can only assume that our Deeds and Wills will be kept safe until such time as we can go in to pick them up, but really need to know if they bothered to submit and pay our taxes which we paid them for. If they did pay them then they owe us no money but need to find out within the 15 days that we have to submit a claim.
Also, does anybody know if our Deeds and Wills have to be lodged with a Spanish Solicitor? Or could we just bring them back to the UK for safe keeping?

Hi Saffronbilli,
Can only say what we have done we have the original wills in the UK our solicitor has a copy.
Deeds with the solicitor we have a copy, but you can bring the originals with you I know people that have done so, it is up to you I believe. I have been told deeds are not as important as they are in UK.
Hope this helps, hope you find out about your tax bills and that they have paid it for you.
Pat

Hi All,
One point I wanted to make was that your Spanish Will will be registered in the Will Registry in Madrid and an original held in the Notary you granted it. Do not fret for the Will! You or any solicitor will only have a "Copia Simple" or simple copy so no worries there!
If anybody would like advice then please PM me.

Hi
Can anyone tell us how we can go about paying our tax bill as we were just about to send it to Aldea when we got the 'e-mail'. Do we need to appoint another legal advisor or is there somewhere we can pay it ourselves.
Also have any of you had the e-mail from Parador "wanting to help". I don't know about you but I wouldn't rely on their help. They're probably tied up in this scam as well.

In response to the emails weve received re Aldea Advisors and your queries this is what i know
We went there Mon 28th Sep to retrieve our deeds They had requested 120euros some months ago to keep them and i didnt want that so at the earliest opportunity we went in torrential rain and floods to their office on Calle de Jera Cartegena
We had telephoned in August to make the appointment and she said she was on her own and the other staff I assumed were on holiday Thought it odd but when in Spain late Sep 09 we made the appointment expecting staff to have returned to work
She said as she was still on her own and extremely busy so to go betweeen 10 and 11 No problem
We saw the large building next to Aldea was being renovated and was empty and I asked her if they were staying there or moving offices as the actual building where the offices are is very scruffy but the offices themseles are good She said No and I asked if the company was carrying on as they had no staff She said it was Ok and we got our copy of the deeds and signed for them
Apparantly the original Deeds are with the Land Registry there and the original Will is with the Notary and only retrieved rom the archive on death
Was unhappy that the Deeds were in Spanish so no idea what they say Covered in stamps I also dont now know whether our tax has been paid by Aldea Will email Administrator for clarification When I phoned Tuesday am re wanting deeds translated there was no reply
We purchased Aug 2008 and Aldea were recommended by Parador but in Mojacar office which I believe someone says has closed Parador have recommended to my friend more recently a different solicitor in Torrevieca She bought in Sep 09
