Certificate of habitation price question

HI. We have just received a price on obtaining a Certificate of habitation of 2,450 Euro, which i think is very high, he is also looking at 1.5 % from the sale. He did say that it will 100% guaranteed  in obtaining the Certificate but we are hearing of people that are getting refused this?.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Certificates of habitation need to be provided by Town Halls on a free basis.

There is no charge to get a COH from a builder and it is their legal obligation to provide you with one so I don´t understand any of the charges that you are talking about

Hi. Thanks for the replies.

This is the lawyer that is giving us the price for obtaining the Cert, it might be for cutting corners, i just told him i would get back to him while i got some info on it together. I'm a little confused to the high price

The builder did a runner long ago, no-where to be found.

I'll ask him for a breakdown of the price, that might get him scratching his head..
