Return of deposit with out of date bank guarantee

Just thought I would let you all know me and the Laird of Lochaber (my Husband) had our deposit back on Tuesday on an out of date bank Guarantee.

The company concerned are SGR  who issued it for Herrado del Tollo part of the San Jose Inversiones group a subsiduary compnay set up to build Santa Ana Del Monte Golf Resort in Jumilla Murcia and I might tell you they fought all the way to the finishing line, because we were only ever issued with a photocopy of our original, it took 9 months and a trip to the Notary to notarise our photocopy,still they fought on but thanks to our persistent young Abogado we can now start to live the life we came to Spain for and get to know the country

Great news. Know just how you feel as we got out deposit from Polaris about 18 months ago.

Having the money in Euros has also helped to shield us from the drop in exchange rates - a bonus!

Many thanks to our lawyer Mariano, GM Legal Experts, Guardamar who have acted with the utmost professionalism throughout this whole process. It has taken only around 10 months for them to obtain our money back on an out of date bank guarantee

Unlike a lot of other lawyers that we had the displeasure of dealing with, Mariano answered our emails within a day and in fact we never had to hound him for information, it was always freely given.

As soon as his agent collected the money from the court, it was transferred to our bank account

I was losing faith in lawyers in Spain but i am glad to say that there are some excellent lawyers and we could not have got a better one or more honest and he also frequently phoned us as well.

So glad we did not destroy our bank guarantee when we were told by a lawyer that it was no use and that we would never get our money back

After over 7 years, thank God we can move on from this
