Animals, fireworks and New Years Eve
Thursday, December 29, 2011
A lot of us have dogs who are terrified of loud noises, and especially fireworks, and this coming Saturday/Sunday is going to be a nightmare for them.
IN SPAIN BUY COMPRIMIDO CALMAVET
Go into Pets World, Torrevieja, by Ardys, the DIY place just past Hnos Garcias, their phone number is 966 927 766
If you need something for your terrified pooch, then go in there and ask for comprimido calmavet
You need 1 tablet per 10 kilo of dog weight, to just calm them down a bit, or 1 tablet per 5 kilo of dog if your dog is absolutely scared witless. The double dose won't knock your dog out, but will put him/her into a nice blissful state of not giving a flying fork for about 4-5 hours. The price - a whopping 62 cents per tablet.
IN THE UK BUY STUGERON15
Lloyds pharmacy sell Stugeron & it's the only travel sickness pill for humans that can be safely used on dogs (so a U.K. vet said). Someone said her dog weighing 4 kg had 1 tablet and that zonked her out. Give them for travel sickness too.

Read THIS first! Festive fears prove fanciful
THEN read THIS!
This discusses the Content article: Festive fears prove fanciful
The new Spanish Government has today decided that, effective on the 28th December of this year, all houses and properties owned by people NOT from the core European Union Countries (i.e. this refers clearly to Britons, Swiss, Norwegians etc) will be expropriated and paid for in a new currency, the New Pasata. Each Pasata will be worth 30 euro cents, and people will be paid what appears in the Escritura (_title_ Deed).
The houses will then be distributed to those Spaniards and other European Union nationals (to make sure there is no discrimination rule in Brussels) who have lost or are losing their houses by the banking crisis, and will be done on the 6th of January, the Government spokesman, Baltazar de Belén has advised.
The British Government has offered to repatriate all britons involved and is sending a flotilla to pick up people, though they are also negotiating with Ryanair. David Cameron is in negotiations with his deputy, Clegg, on how to respond with firmer measures.
IS IT APRIL 1ST??????????????

Siku, the cute orphan Danish polar bear, Youtube internet sensation!
Thursday, December 22, 2011
Source: Daily Mirror link
An orphaned polar bear cub is set to become an internet sensation after adorable footage of the youngster was posted on YouTube.
Month-old Siku is being hand-reared at a Danish zoo after his mother failed to produce enough milk to feed him.
Staff at the Scandinavian Wildlife Park caught the cute cub on camera wriggling around, suckling on a keeper’s finger and squeaking as he slurps milk.
The infant weighed just three pounds when he was born, but now weighs a healthy seven pounds, according to park manager Frank Vigh-Larsen.Mr Vigh-Larsen added that the cub was two days old when he was removed from his mother after surveillance video inside the bear cave revealed that he "was moaning and being unruly all the time."
Siku, whose name means ‘Sea Ice’ in Greenlandic, would have been in danger of death if he had stayed with his mother.
Three people are giving round-the-clock care to the cub at the zoo in Kolind, 105 miles northwest of Copenhagen.

It was then picked up by Australian gossip website Popsugar, who ran it alongside a selection of other celebrity Christmas cards.
This morning, a picture of the card was then shared by the editor of Glamour magazine UK, Jo Elvin.

The economy............
Wednesday, December 21, 2011
Hans, a middle-aged German tourist on his first visit to Orlando, Florida, finds the red light district and enters a large brothel. The madam asks him to be seated and sends over a young lady to entertain him.
They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear and she gasps and runs away! Seeing this, the madam sends over a more experienced lady to entertain the gentleman.
They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear, and she too screams, "No!" and walks quickly away.
The madam is surprised that this ordinary looking man has asked for something so outrageous that her two girls will have nothing to do with him. She decides that only her most experienced lady, Lola, will do. Lola has never said no, and it's not likely anything would surprise her. So the madam sends her over to Hans. They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear and she screams, "NO WAY, BUDDY!" and smacks him as hard as she can and leaves.
Madam is by now absolutely intrigued, having seen nothing like this in all her years of operating a brothel. She hasn't done the bedroom work herself for a long time, but she's sure she has said yes to everything a man could possibly ask for. She just has to find out what this man wants that has made her girls so angry. Besides she sees a chance to teach her employees a lesson.
So she goes over to Hans and says that she's the best in the house and is available. She sits and talks with him. They frolic, giggle, drink and then she sits in his lap.

Chemists in the Valencia Region have decided to take direct action against regional government by going on strike for three days (December 19, 20 and 21)
Sunday, December 18, 2011
CHEMISTS in the Valencia Region have decided to take direct action against regional government by going on strike for three days next week (December 19, 20 and 21) after it defaulted on a promised 60 million euro payment to them which was due by December 10.
The agreement to make the payment was reached in November and it was to be part of an ongoing series of payments designed to reduce the massive debt the regional authority has with the chemists and at the same time relieve the cash-flow problems they are experiencing.
To that end chemists from all three province gathered outside the regional tax authority's office in Valencia on Wednesday to protest at the treatment they are receiving but earlier in the day they reached agreeement on the strike action.
This move was decided upon after representatives from the three provinces met with tax councillor, José Manuel Vela, and health councillor, Luis Rosado on Monday.
Following the meeting a spokesman for the chemists, Jaime Carbonell, said that although the meeting was amenable the representatives were told that there was a problem and the 60 million euro payment could not be made until the end of the month, which was unacceptable.
To add to the problem, chemists have said they will start rationing medicines for patients that have chronic conditions in order to reduce their stocks and their debts with the companies that supply them.
