Ryanair Cash Passport - As expected!
Wednesday, September 14, 2011

It was only a matter time really, wasn't it?

The whole "you need to use a prepaid Mastercard to avoid paying silly booking fees" was just Ryanair lining themselves up to launch their own card.

Which they announced today is happening shortly.

Although most of the links they have given and are indexed by Google don't actually work!

Great start

These "cheap flights" aren't really cheap like they used to be which is a bit sad really as sitting with my knees squashed against the seat in front and paying extra for the privilege isn't my idea of comfortable flying.

We once travelled with Ryanair to four countries in eight days and for the four of us it cost just over €250.  I don't think we'd get that kind of deal again today.

Anyway, for those of you regular Ryanair flyers, once they sort out their links you'll have no choice but to order their new Cash Passport prepaid Mastercard....or pay the booking fees.

I wonder if we'll be able to use the new card to access the toilets on the planes too?   One swipe or two??

Apple Store Marbella
Monday, September 12, 2011

I was reading this morning that Apple is opening a new "Apple Store" in La Cañada shopping centre in Marbella.

It's supposed to be the largest of their stores in Spain and they are looking to employ around 65 staff (although it seems most of the jobs are probably already taken!).

The store will open in November and no doubt they will have some massive Apple-style fanfare on opening.

Apple Stores seem to generate massive buzz so this news can only be incredibly good for Marbella and especially the La Cañada shopping centre.

It's good to report on something positive for a change .  Let's just hope it is a real one and not one of those fake stores like in China

Go Karting at Funny Beach in Marbella
Thursday, September 8, 2011

My kids aren't back at school yet so today I thought I'd treat them to a spot of motorsport fun.  OK, so it was more for me than them!

We headed off to Funny Beach in Marbella.  They have a small track there but it's enought for a bit of noisy, fast fun.

My two kids are 9 and they used the smaller karts which they absolutely loved.  I did have a go on one of the big boys karts and although not particularly fast, they were good fun.

However, it's not cheap.  Kids pay €8 for 5 mins and adults pay €20 for 8 mins!  Suffice to say it's not something we're going to do every day

Still, great place to go if you fancy a bit of karting on the coast.

There's other stuff to do there too.  Jet Skiing, trampolines, pedalos, kids boat thing and lot's of other small rides for kids.

Great place, can't believe I've never been there before.
