Two Poodles living in Spain

The daily lives of two poodles living in Spain. We are a Black Standard Poodle (Grande Caniche) called Dudley and a Cream Standard Poodle called Monica. We were born in a village in the mountains of Andalusia and now live on the Orihuela Costa in Spain. Monica is 4 years old and Dudley is 1. (This blog is in memory of Buddy, one of the original TPLIS who sadly was put to sleep on 27th December 2010).

IT’S TIME………..TO FACE……..THE MUSIC

Ooops! Sorry still in X Factor mode.

Right, as you will remember a few weeks ago I mentioned about how I had to attend school on a Sunday. Well last Sunday it was our results day. A couple of weeks ago, Headmaster Roy set us a test. We had to complete a certain amount of exercises and he would give us marks out of 10….(“Oi’ll give it foive”*….shades of Thank Your Lucky Stars).

We had to do heelwork, sit stays, down stays, stand stays, recall, etc., etc., and the result are in…………….

Winner of the Basic Class was Fernando Olmedo and his young dog Yako (pictured below).

Winner of the Intermediate Class was Victoria Coe and her dog Jasper (pictured below).

Winner of the Advanced Class was Vera Ware and Ben (pictured below).   (…..I like Ben….)

Agility Winner was Marlene Smythe and Monica (pictured below). (Yeeeehah I got my ‘A’ level).

The final trophy was the Fred Moeken Memorial Trophy (which I won last year by the way) which is for the dog who in the opinion of an anonymous independent judge – not the Headmaster – has made the most progress throughout the 10 week course and this was awarded to……..

Paul Baxter and Canela (pictured below).

Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who turns up week after week to train their dogs.

If you are interested in training your dog and winning one of the above magnificent trophies then please don’t hesitate to come and join us. Please telephone Headmaster Roy on 966762265. We train at the Polideportivo Sports Ground, Rio Seco, Pinar de Campoverede. New courses start on Saturday 8th January 2011.

And as they used to say in the 60’s “Be there or be square !”

Monica

Hasta Pronto!

* Can you remember the name of the girl who said “Oi’ll give it foive”….it was Janice Nicholls
