Valencia (Part Two)

We were only there for a couple of days, so it was difficult to decide what to see. So we opted for the Oceanográfic. Here you can “travel” to the various seas and continents to see amazing birds, fish, animals and Dolphin display. For those of you who want to get up close and personal there is the opportunity to be a trainer for a day, or swim with the dolphins and even sleep with the sharks!! A fantastic day for all the family.

On the way back from the Oceanográfic we were going to walk through the Umbracle; this was holding a display of 26 life like robotic dinosaurs, but as we did not have the time to do this justice, we decided to leave it for the moment. However, we did see a 27 ft long Diplodocus……..
On day two, we only had half a day left so we opted for the Museo de las Ciencas Principe Felipe. Which is the Science Museum with lots of hands on exhibits to play with which was great fun.
One of there current exhibitions is Star Trek. With real props and costumes from the series, video clips of various episodes, masks and make-up and a replica of the Bridge of the Enterprise….so I got to sit in Captain Kirk’s seat. (Unfortunately you were not allowed to take picture). Still….live long a prosper!
Please note I have only scratched the surface of what there is to see and do in Valencia…..there is so much more……definitely well worth a visit.
