Hi All
It says in the English papers that the lorry drivers in Spain have gone on strike over fuel prices.
It goes on to say they will bring the country to its knees. No petrol in garages in a few days and no food in shops.
Can anybody out there shed any light on this.
I am due to come out next week so need to be prepared.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
We left San Cayetano yesterday after a ten day stay and there was no sign of any fuel shortages, no queues at the filling stations each time we went, and shops were fully stocked, (Dos Mares was heaving with people yesterday as it was a Bank Holiday) hope this helps. Hi Everyone
We are coming out in 2 weeks time, so hopefully all will be back to normal then. However, another update for today would be of great benefit to those of us planning a trip in the next few days.
What's happening with supermarket stocks, petrol stations, etc?
If anyone has had problems with picking up hire cars and petrol tanks are not full (as usually promised by rental companies) please post some info on this thread.

I have heard on the news that the Spanish authorities are taking a tough stance on the striking drivers and are starting to clear the blockades.
The ones on strike only represent 12% of the drivers. The other 88% have signed up for a new deal.
Hopefully fuel and food will start to get through.
Can the people out there keep us updated. I am flying out on Monday so if there was still problems I would cancel .
Cheers
Dave

We were expecting to have our furniture delivered on 23rd June the day we arrive, however we have been told that if the strike is still on they won't be able to get things out of the warehouse, I don't really fancy sleeping on a hard floor so I hope it gets resolved soon

Hi all,
I´ve been told there is no diesel at all at the moment. I was in Eroski on Tuesday afternoon and there was no fresh meat or fish on the counters. Apparently, petrol is still in abundance, but you´re in trouble if you drive a diesel car.
But the sun is shining and its glorious!
