The council tax is 123e per year. The rubbish collection is 36e per year The water bill is every 3 months my last bill was about 40e and the electric is every 2 months my last bill was about 120e. You will of course have to pay community fees which will be decided by your administrater our is 85e per 3 months hope this helps

Hi Guys,
Brian thanks for the info very useful. Could I just clarify something to do with the insurance. Do we need just to take out contents insurance, as my understanding is the community set up insurance for the building or have I miss understood and we need to do insurance for both?

Hi Everyone
Carol the pool maintenance is paid out of the community fees as is the building insurance the community lightning and general maintenance of the building.
Sharon you still have to pay for the contents insurance.
Just thought you might you might like to know supervalu are having a giant paella party at 1.30pm on saturday and manos bar do free paella every thursday at 2.30pm.

Hi everyone, talking of yearly costs, does anyone know best place to buy home contents insurance in spain or can you buy it in England. Also if your comminty fees include the building insurance what do you do in the meantime for buildings cover till your community is set up.
Have been qouted about 300 euros with the bank for home insurance we are getting our morgage with.

Hello,
We have a mortgage with CAM bank and we have just paid 190 euros for insurance with them. I think 300 euros seems a little high. I spoke with one of my neighbours in Mary sol and he was getting quotes in for under 180 euros. I still have building and contents insurance so i will have to check if both are still needed as our community is now up and running.

Hi everyone, We completed on our apt last week, I believe we were the first to do this in phase 2. Our solicitor got us a quote of 137euros for contents cover of 12,000 euros which we thought was very reasonable. Hi Pauline and Bob we are in Phase 1 we took possession of our apartment in May but we had to take out buildings insurance through the morgage lender to get a mortgage. I thought the community insurance only covered communal areas of the build.

Hi Chris and Geoff,
I have also been informed the community building insurance only covers the community areas and not the property. We have been advised to have our own building insurance for our apartment. The example we were given was: 'if one of pipes leaked and caused damage to the property below then without our own building insurance we would not be covered and therefore liable'. This obviously would not be covered by the contents - contents is anything that is not fixed !!

Hi Chris and Geoff,
At least we have the same message about the insurance, I can understand why everyone becomes confused about the buildings ins.
I'm going over the 8 Aug for just over 3 weeks, I might go out in July for a couple of days once a final date has been arranged to ensure everything is alright and check for snagging. What about yourselves, and who else will be out then?

we are going out sunday 13/7/08 hopefully our solicitor will have completed by then so we can start to furnish etc..Look forward to meeting new neighbours and friends.We are over two weeks.
