scanning and translating a letter

We have just visited the site on 27th march- 30th and my husbands thinks they are going to be ready for early June ( he is a builder). We have posted some photos.  We just wanted to know if anyone had checked out if you can walk to Benimar, we think their is a path through the orange grove along the river. Had a drink in the Liffery which looks very nice ( we hope to be there for xams dinner 08). Looking forward to meeting fellow neighbours.

P.s Has anyone had any meals in the any of the village resturants.

Welcome, which apartment are you in.  Thanks for putting on the photo's, I will be there in two weeks time, so will take some more and post them.

Trasgu is a lovely restaurant/pub for meals, can't remember names of the others but we have not experienced any problems, both the Spanish bars do food/tapas and that is fine - there are some new ones though since last year which we have yet to try.  There is also a nice chinese in Rojales which is in walking distance about 15 mins - set menu is great value for money.

Yes you can walk to Benimar, but it's very English there - English pubs, English bars, etc. It's probably quicker to walk up to Palacios, turn right and keep going. You can either walk on a little further to Benijofar and there's a lovely tapas bar - Sonias. There's also a new restaurant recently opened called El Gusto. We're trying it next week but there are already some good reports. You can also cut across the orange groves and over the bridge to Benijofar, but if you're coming home late, take a torch. It's safe, but dark!

I second the good comments about Trasgus. You should particularly try their patatas bravas and albondigas.

There's Crocadillos a little further along the main road and another one (but I can't remember the name either). Bar Candy does some nice tapas as well and some good main meals.

We've eaten in Mano's bar and the Timanfaya - both near the Liffey Bar - and both are nice and friendly and have good food.

There's another great tapas bar in Rojales. If you walk on to the main road, past Palacios and you go past the town hall on your right. Shortly afterwards, when you reach the corner, there's a paved area with a coffee bar on the left-hand corner. Just around the corner is the tapas bar.

I agree with the others, their are some great places to eat in and around Formentera, one of the things i like about the area is you can easily walk to the local bars etc and around town because it is so flat compared to some places.

If you have a car there are some lovely Tapas bars in Guardamar and a nice restaurant  and beach bar in La Marina

Welcome to the BDM crowd. We have not had many meals in the area, we have had a couple of meals in Rojales at one of the bars which was very good and also in the Liffey bar which was also very good.  We have stayed in two hotels when we visited so the meals were included.  Hope we all meet up one day.

15 mins through the orange groves and the new WOK opened last saturday !!  and we even spotted Jocey from the liffey having a night out in there , Massive place very trick (in benimar).

Opposite the WOK construction has just started on our own Bowling Alley , and a Carrefour supermarket so getting everthing will be in an easy 10 min walk.

try the Dutch steak house in benimar behind studs , next to the mexican expensive but top dollar. Family run very friendly.

Jerry at Studs makes you feel welcome , quiz night thurs.

Thanks guys for your lovely welcomes, brilliant to have so many replies. wish we were there now. Just to let you know we are on the last phase 174, top floor at the back south west facing. Any one near there let me know.  Had one in sams bar when we were  there last month. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi Guys,

Would like to say hi to Brian and Jackie who are in the Mar y sol blocks.  By chance meeting Brian told us he is running  bar and restaurant just down from the chinese in Rojales - 'Henry's Bar'  - (opened Jan) my aunt and I had a lovely evening, the food was superb and fantastic value - would recommend to try it out.  Its a set price for the evening at 14.95 euros, with lots of little starters and soup, main course, sweet, coffee and a glass of wine.  There is also a day menu and snack menu.  Looking forward to visiting again when I'm back out.  Would recommend to book a table on 0034 965 724 131.

Hi Marie,

The ground in front of us appears to be a big mystery, no one appears to know what is happening there, plenty of conflicting rumours - its a case of wait and see.

The last 18 months have flown by, it is exciting, can't wait.

Hi Sharon,

Im holding off on booking anything until we hear about contract signing etc. Will go at halloween for sure. Im very pleased with the finish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hopefully the down turn in the market will delay anything being built in the mystery area. Will let you know when we book anything

Hi.

  According to the man in the office he says they wiil build there but as yet they have no plans to build on that plot .However they do have plans to build on the plot next door to the super market but dont know when they will start to build he says it is only a small apartment block of 21 but that dont mean a thing.  Untill they start building we wont know what they will build.
