Auditor Resigns over missing cash receipts

Hi everyone

The names lisa and Brian, we have just brought an apartment in Block 2 over the supermarket. We arrived back in the UK last week after signing contracts. I have loads of pics of all the development area which is looking great. so I'll upload buckets of them onto one of my servers and fire a link on here.
Obviously we don't know anyone as yet from the community and by registering here we can perhaps make a few friends. Our apartment is scheduled to be completed by the end of Jan 08, it looks key ready now but dusty.

We're looking at furniture and kitting the place out. had a few beers in the liffey bar, nice folks and help sway our decision in buying , spoke to a few locals which also swayed us, but none from our block.

We had been looking at loadsof developments and for value you carn't beat them , quality is excellent for spain

Hi Bri and Lisa,

Welcome its great a to have to new people on the forum it all helps when we go out and all meet up.  Were a friendly bunch.  Bet you can't wait to get your keys, were still waiting for the brickwork to go in - unless it has been done now.  Having been out there a few weeks back it was great to see how the build was going, the area is lovely as are the people, I think we have a nice little community building up.

struggling sorting the furniture, price came back for a pack at 6 grand sterling , so we're thinking of the ikea option anyone give us an idea ?? on the most economical way

Its down to personal preference, if you have the time to shop about then thats fine, baring in mind you will have to arrange for electrical fittings to be put in, curtain rails, etc will need hanging, bathroom fittings, shower screens.  What we have decided to do is use Furniture Express by buying a package deal, they come and deliver, fit everything in one go, make the beds, put everything away so there is less hassle - when you arrive at the apartment you can just get on and enjoy it, but as I said it is personal choice - you may pay a little more for this option but it is more convienient.

Hi Bri,Lisa,Loz and Kath welcome to the forum.  We are in block 1 of Brisas Del Mar on the top floor facing inwards.

Hi  Christine , Geoff , bri , lisa and sharron W. we are on the 2nd floor looking out towards the lemon groves and road from Rojales. Just looked at all the photos again and the place and area looks great. Having a meeting with the rep,s who wwe are buying our apartment with and hope to get a time scales as to when we will be out in spain for the big sign over and collection of the keys.

we will take photos when we are next out and will definately post them on the site. Looking forward to meeting everybody at some stage.

Hi folks we are also above the supermarket its nice to know that there will be other people in the block as we been on this website since we bought way back in 2005 and have know response from any others in this block .The builer is pushing us to complete and has been doing so since august even when went out there the apartment was nearly complete minus the doors but there were nolift in or the stair we had to enter by ladder does anyone know if this has been completed

Dear amanda and nick. The property people we are buying the apartment through has told us to ignore the builder. The apartments havent even had a valuation yet and until that is done nothing is going to move. The guy we spoke to at spainish property guide has stated that we may be looking at the middle to the end of jan 2008 before we complete (but dont hold your breath on that one)and get the keys etc. I only spoke to the bloke yesterday and he seems to have his finger on the pulse. As per my previous message to Bri and Lisa - Furniture Express will supply everything you need and fit it.  There web page is www.furnitureexpressspain.com - I have found them to be very helpful and its very easy to amend, upgrade your package.  There are some very good review about them on the general forum.

Amanda and Nick. Just spoke to the spanish solicitor. today She has been asking for the usual pay slips , bank statements and last P60 etc .They are looking at Jan 2008 also for completion. Thought I'd let you know.

Booking flights shortly for  a trip over there at the end of jan 08,  this seems to be about the completion date. Our apartment is finished minus the cooker extractor.  I notice that the pool is yet to be completed. Great to here of some neighbours in block 2 .  Builder is now pushing for our deposit this side of xmas , completion jan 08

Hi folks

the builder is pushing us to complete before Xmas what a joke as when i last rang up there was not even the habitation licence in place does anyone know if the block as got it yet as what is the point in completing without this.I feel that as our contract was compliation prior august 07 and was told possibly before that as they dont work in august I feel that we are been led a merry dance and why complete without the neccesary thngs in place. The builder needs to be offering so form of compensation for the delay in the build he has had 2yrs to complete from time of purchase does anyone else feel the same as us. look forward to reading your replies

we are also in block 1. We are buying through spanish property guide and they are not bad. they keep us quite well informed. Like you we got a letter from the builder stating that the apartment was nearly complete and that they were ready for handing over etc. Contacted spanish property guide. They have advised us not to rush and there is no flap. They have stated that there needs to be things in place before we start signing this and that. The guy at spanish property guide stated that when he has all the details infront of him and he and the solicitor's are happy then he will contact us. Amanda and nick like you say they will need an habitation licence before everything moves forwards. I know for a fact that this has not been competed . I dont think I'm wrong in stating that the block also has to be inspected by the bank that mortgaged the builder to build it in the first place. Before all this is completed nothing will be moving.

With regard to the time it should have been completed. We were informed that it was to be April 2007. We bought off plan in Oct 2005 . Anyway as soon as we get the nod or any other information we will immediately let you know whats happening our end.

Best thing we can all do is keep together , watch each others backs and keep each other informed.

Although I'm not a future Brisas owner, but I do own next door - Mar Y Sol. We completed before the habitation cert was issued and would like you to reassure you that it wasn't an issue. There are some advantages - free water and electricity!

We completed in March and only got the habitation cert in October. The authorities won't provide the habitation certs until ALL the apartments in the whole block are completed.

I'm not suggesting you plough ahead regardless, but just thought our experience might be useful.
