Hi All,
Thanks for all the great pictures. It is great to see how phase 2 is coming along "slowly" but surely !!
In April, Marie, Geraldine will be going to Brisas del Mar for the "viewing" of our apartments. We are each buying in Phase 2 and need to open a bank account in Spain. Any advise would be welcome (we know nothing of Spanish Banks). Help Please !!
Will take lots of pictures in April.
Adios,
Karen

Hi Karen,
We hope this info will help you to open a bank account, when we opened an account, we went to the main bank in spain ,bank Bancaja, We just sighned a few forms, . We did not have to open it with money. We were told that this bank is in all areas. It seemed much easier than here. We are getting our morgage through this bank. Hope this is helpful to you.

Hi Karen,
We opened an account with Bancaja in Cabo Roig at the end of last year, it only took about 10 mins and we were even given our pin numbers for our cards there and then, we went back into the bank a week later and picked up the cards, The internet banking site is easy to use and they have plenty of branches, but you can also use Servired bank for free.
Regards
Dave

Hi Karen, we have opened an account with Halifax es which is based in Guardamar, it only took a few minutes and a 50 euro deposit into the account, you get online banking and cash cards etc and can transfere money from UK free of charge from another Halifax or RBOS account (but not online, you can transfere via phone banking). We have been advised not to take a mortgage with them as they only do 2yrs interest free, if that, and that they are very slow. We have gone through a broker and it seems a reasonable deal.
