It’s a busy old world

Well time has been passing and things have been happening, so I have written a few lines to keep you updated and inform you

 Are we a community?

YES—We have in Spanish legal law all that is necessary to be 100% a community, what is still going on is the hand over from Taray to the T.P. Council, hence no payment for street lighting and water, BUT ITS COMING !!!!

 Community Payments

The chase is ongoing, and I ask the question, why are we having to chase, everyone knew on the day they signed up for a life here, that community payment was part of it, ---even if they were not going to use the pool.

Here is the twist to the story, I have asked some people who have had their children and friends in the pool if they have paid----you’ve got it, the answer has been no, and holiday lets are sometimes the same, it is your responsibility to get the payments made-----not mine, names of debtor will be posted on several formats, for the good guys to see who they are subsidising, and finally, yes we will go to the debtor court at year end to get the money from the non payers

 Community/Pool Rules

Grey hair and wrinkles tells me that rules and the law are the fabric of any society, you may not always agree with them, but they are there for a purpose, please keep in mind that sometimes they may work against what you want, but keep in mind, that may change, and you may want something to back up your conviction.

The simple rule is -- abide by the rules, if you are renting make sure the people who are in your property abide by the rules, (you are the one responsible) if you are passing someone who is not obeying the rules, in the correct manner, inform them of the rules, your investment here will depend on the standards we set, and if we need to fine tune them the A.G.M. in January is the place, or if its drastic we can call a meeting any time

Example, lady enquires about raising her gate, she is given guidance on what is needed, this must have been too much hassle, so she went ahead anyway, (I think this demonstrates disrespect to you and the community rules) This is now being addressed

There are persons who wish to alter the outside of their house, and with the rules in mind, a meeting will be called soon for this purpose, check your post box for where and when

I have been involved with two people turning up at their holiday home and having no power, on these occasions I have done my bit,--no more

It is your responsibility to make sure there is money in the bank to cover the payments

 Ongoing Projects

• The ground at the end of Pedro Cano - asking for more clearance or fencing
• The ground after Tarays at V Ross - trying to establish ownership, to ask for clearance/tidy
• Asking -What is the status and forward plan for the sports ground and centre, how will it be ran, who will run it, what is the function of the building. Etc
• Meeting with police to keep our streets safe
• Hand rail at the swimming pool steps, to assist safe entry/exit for all

 Street Lighting

This has been addressed as far as repairs go, the main (no pun intended) problem now is that it is still on builders supply, this should be rectified when Torre Pacheco becomes involved, the only thing then is it will cost us, also the water supply will come under them, with the same conclusion

 TV Reception

What is Available?

• Spanish communal aerial -5 Spanish stations and CNN
• Tele east, either by all in the block agreeing to go for the repositioning of the communal aerial fitted by Micromesh,
• Personal aerials repositioned to pick up Tele east
• Or your own aerial left as it is

 Post box keys & Repair

Distribution still ongoing I will only allow the collection of keys for other people, if I receive an instruction via e-mail, you will also notice that on three of the post box areas there are boxes for the dreaded fliers, and it’s worth noting they were being used by the fliers squad ---You never know!!!!!!!

Repair of faulty boxes is with Taray at present, but will become the community’s responsibility

 V Ross problems

I am sure that you are aware of the goings on in one section of the above mentioned street, (the bottom section near the road end,) tyres slashed, a few articles stolen, and signs of attempted damage to grills.

I emphasise that at present it is one section of our community that seems to be getting targeted, all of the above have been reported to the police, it is also noticeable that the community has responded, with more doggy walks and people walking round later at night, also on this subject, I have discussed the problems with the police at local level, but Laura and myself went on Thursday and met with the chief security person for the area in Torre Pacheco, the outcome was, the community complaints are now formally registered, we have proof, and a formal stamp as proof of complaint.

The agreement was reached that the police would increase patrols between the hours of 2:00 A.M and 4:00 A.M. and I am informed they have added a patrol at 23:00 P.M

Dear Colin,

Please can you advise me why my name is on your black list of unpaid community fees, when I made the 1st payment in april, and at the same time set up direct debit, I have even shown you the receipt I had from the bank, after you continually harrassed my daughter for the money last week. (which is unacceptable, when i asked you to confirm non receipt to myself immediatley, so I could chase up the problem) I am still awaiting a reply from laura and yourself as to where my money has gone.  
for this reason I beleive you have acted unprofessionly with the petty literature you have used in your  recent newsletter concerning this matter, and I certainly disagree on the process you have followed to obtain the monies.
I  agree that everyone has to pay the fee, as this was agreed prior to purchase, however I feel you should of contacted individuals whos monies  you have not recieved as yet, in a written format to make them aware that there is a problem as there maybe a lot more people who have paid and the error has occured.
I think you should then send them a legal letter individually, with costs attached so the community does not suffer the penalties. 
Having worked in a debt profession I have never experienced anything as imature and unprofessional to the process and litarture you have used on this occasion.
I am very dissapointed that I have been shamed into publicly processing this statement on this site, as I certainly did not move here to deal with all this nonsense.

First of all I am not a professional anything, but one unpaid president who is giving alot of his time trying to do what is right for all
You will see that there are over thirty names on the list, and we are coming up to the third quarter, we have already been caught out with not enough monies to pay committments 
For your own problem I recieve the list from our support group and it says we have one payment from you, when we should have two if this is not the case except my apology , but at present it is not showing in our bank, this may change in the next print out -------Which I will put on display
I resent the statement about harrassing your daughter, I approached her to convey a message to you as you were at work, and there was also a bit tongue in cheek, but there again, did I not see you discussing another issue with my nieghbour,  about your obviously very sensitve daughter 
I also did not come here to take on something of this ilk, but with your proffessional background, we now know who could be our next president
People who are on the list have been contacted, but we are unable to proceed to legal letters until year end--then we will
When you find people willing to use the community facilities without giving a payment, then in my position, I will remind them of this, and still go after the payments, by any means, the response I am getting from the good people tells me the majority are pleased with the way I am conducting my/our business

obviously you are having difficult times getting people to pay their community fees. i fail to understand this as if i want to avail of the facilities i do not ewxpext to pay for them for nothing. As a holiday homeowner i resent the fact that a significant number of residents and non residents are living of my (and others who have paid their fees) community fees. I take this seriously and so should all other owners. as president you should not have to be chasing after people to pay fees. People were aware of the community fees for the upkeep of the development beofre they signed with the notary. Why are people not paying???

You have more important things to be doing like enjoying the sunshine than taking greif chasing up people to pay their fees. I see there is a meeting on monday 30th june about the gates. Are people who have not paid their fees going to turn up and vote?? i do not think they should have a vote unles they are paid up with fees. otherwise those who have paid will end up paying more.  The constitution states that no changes should be made without the approval of the committee and the president. 

i think that the changes to gates I have seen are in keeping with the style of the complex  and have no difficulty with them. Everyone else should adopt the same style to compliment what is already there.

As for other changes - like drain pies etc, - this is not in keeping with the style of the houses. people who did not get approval should be asked to remove changes that have not been approved. We can only have one set of rules that applys to all.

At the intended meeting a check will be carried out for non payment--NO PAY NO SAY !!!!
Your understanding of the Spanish community rule for house alterations is spot on, and most people understand its about keeping our streets from turning into a mix match of bits and pieces

For people like your self I will keep trudging on

We agree with everything said here by yourself & Vincent. We are at home here in Ireland (in the rain) working our butts off to pay our mortgage and community fees,
I did not reliase I would be paying to have the pool cleaned and maintained after families that are using it on a regular basis and not paying, and I am over here and not using it at all !
THE NERVE OF SOME !!!
It just  feels like some people (not all) are living the good life at our expense ,  NOT FAIR !!!
There are people living there over a year and have not paid, we have only used our house for 8 weeks and used the pool once in all that time, but knew when we were purchasing we would have to 
pay the dues, we have no problem with that as long as everyone else pays likewise.

I continue to be dismayed at the behaviour of some of my Balsicas neighbours on this website. Anyone selling their home on the development will be in despair at the damage this must be doing to prices and saleability. Such public displays of anger or annoyance are wholly unnecessary and serve nothing other than to make the perpetrators look puerile. Poor spelling and grammar doesn't help.  

Colin is right to remind us that the work he carries out on our behalf is difficult and unpaid, and seems to attract little in the way of thanks from the beneficiaries. Unlike some I do not expect him to contact me individually when either I, or my bank, fail to deliver the correct payments to the community account. Nor do I expect him to investigate when my payments go astray; I see that as my responsibility. What I do expect of Colin is for him to be enjoying his retirement in the sun without me giving him any hassle whatsoever. If others would like an 'enhanced' service, maybe they should offer their assistance!

Colin, keep doing what you believe to be right and give yourself a break from responding to every complainant here. If they don't like the way you're conducting community business they can use the democratic process for change.

Hi People
The ever increasing support I am now recieving is making it almost worth while, I am certain it is the ever increasing understanding on what I am trying to do, and why some times I admit I come on a bit strong, I think the good people are seeing why
But here is the wee twist (Scottish) to the tale, I think the problems are bringing the community together as there is a few common denominators i.e. people have paid and others who have not

For info.  the error was with the communites bank and not my own bank and I agree I dont expect colin to be chasing me for the monies, this is why a letter should of been issued from laura stating arrears which is normal working practice. the first I heard of my monies not being received 2 months ago was last week, when I immediatley contacted colin to resolve and was advised "dont worry about it, go and have a G & T and I will discuss this with Laura as theres obvioulsy an error somewhere!" so believe me it was me doing the runaround, even taking the morning off work. then the first time i find out they did receive the payment was when the debt list was placed in the swimming pool notice board.  so im sorry but for me, i find this quite disturbing.

I certainly do not require an enhanced service thankyou, as Im more than capable of sorting out my own finances, but I wonder how you would feel if this error had happened to you, and you were publicly black listed.

and for the record I think colin has done some really positive work for the community, but on this occasion I feel deeply disappointed that I have even had to make these public imature statements.
