Just a quick line for those who like me have got a bit of a shock at monies going out of our accounts for electric. I have registered on Iberdolas web site and asked the question what was the 9 + euros taken from our accounts for. They replied that this was an “estimate” bill from installation until the time it was taken out of our accounts.
Please note, Iberdrola are only allowed by Spanish law to issue 2 estimates in succession after that they are breaking the law. Fact!! So if you want to register with their web site you will find it at

From here you can pass on your meter readings to them, otherwise you might get a shock when a bill comes in from one of their readings, especially if you’re a permanent resident.
To give you an example, we were out for 1 week from the 3rd March and we used 65 units and we were hardly in the property, so watch out for those bills.
