Well done everyone concerned TARAY win again we now have a president a paid administrator and a vice president and have taken charge of a POOL and a unfinished mess but on a positive note at least the the individuals whos only obsesion in life is the rules over the pool (no kids no splashing no fun) got some legislations through i meen it is the middle of january that should always bee top of the adjender can anyone tell me the date of the next meeting as even if i carnt make it i would love to have it recorded there has got to be a sit com in this

We have tried unsuccessfully to contact TARAY following my stay there during Christmas to request names being put forward and we are appaulled that these people have been voted in when obviously there are many owners who don't even know them. 

We agree entirely with recent comments posted on this site (i.e., await the recreational area, the site being cleaned up etc).

All we can say is that if anyone tries to stop my children from playing in the pool during our stay there - We won't be accountable for our actions.

I cannot believe what I am reading that some people would vote not to let children play in the pool. i assume this is a joke. Were these people never children themselves. If this is true they need to get a life. How many people were at this meeting? Surely with the number of owners you would have to have a sufficient percentage to be representative and to have a quorum.

who was elected? and what other things were discussed. surely possible rules for torre alcantara should have been put forward and then given to all owbers to consider. This seems like a coup and may well lead to another coup when other owners are in the complex. let reason prevail.

We agree entirely and cannot believe that there are sad people out there who are that selfish that they would want to ruin other people's right to enjoy and use the pool. We ourselves have three young children and deliberately bought the plot adjacent to the pool area for the accessability for the children. The pool area even has a section for children. As long as the children are well supervised we don't see how there can possibly be a problem. It seems to us that these individuals are not at all community minded and should be let nowhere near the committee, god knows what other rules these power crazed people may try and pass. With attitudes like that they should have bought a property in the middle of nowhere, with no neighbours, where they could be completely miserable on the own and build there own pool for their sole use.

To all the other child friendly residents we are looking forward to meeting you all and will be out between 4th - 9th Feb if anybody is around.

Hi all to make it simple children are not allowed in the pool before 10am to facilitate the adults who are training for the olimpics my point is this the pool rules are not to bad thanks to clair who bloked the no lilos rule but to elect a committie there and then was stupid the meeting should have been adjerned and a seperate meeting organised for the byers only where candidates and issues could have been discused and none pressent people could have been contacted and had some kind of input at least then when there was a general understanding of what was going on the meeting with adfin sur and with Taray present could have been re booked issues and elected posts could have been delt with in a more afective way i dont know the people who where elected and am pritty sure a lot of othere people dont but the solution to this problem is right in front of you could candidates not write a profile about themselves and the issues they feel are most urgent and how they feel they should be dealt with and post it on line or produce a flyer to me that is democratic and fair lets not just vote people in because they throw a good barbi (or the clik yes you know who you are) think they would be best we must make sure everyones voice is heard!!!!!

A few facts

The minutes of the meeting should be out this week, this will tell all the TRUE facts of what happened, but in the mean time here are a few points

The presidents position was filled after a few people were approached and said NO, but it was pointed out that the setting up of the constitution could not go ahead (some thing that must happen by law) Mr Colin Weir volenteered to take the position on at the very least to get the rest of the meeting to progress, the MAJORITY of the people there voted for this

We have not taken over anything- and the president will pursue some issues i.e.the final cleaning,safety equipment etc also the possible change out of the grass surface to a child friendly play surface, there was also no mention of doing away with children playing, but it is not only a kids pool it is for all old young etc

I could fill the page with more answers to misintepretation of what happened but The meeting was well publicised for every one and proxy voting papers were provided if people could not be there, there will always be changes and rules that have to be decided on without EVERYONE being available, but there is one common denominator,they will be for the good of our development, and I can assure everyone, if they can do better the job is theirs, no one person I have met wants to rule the roost

We would also like to thank Colin for clarifying matters, particularly relating to the children. We also agree that the pool area should be available for everybody, of whatever age to enjoy and have no objection to children not being allowed in the pool area before 10.00am to allow uninterrupted swims. With regard to the meeting if it wasn't for this forum we would not have known it was occurring. Taray did not inform us of the meeting. They have all our contact details as we bought directly from them but they did not contact us. How will the minutes be distributed to ensure everybody receivees a copy?

Can someone please advise who in hecks name took over the development without it being finished?  Are they certifiably mad or what!  We've spent enough money getting our  outside straight and you'll have a hrad enough time getting any more from us for the green area in front of the railway.  Or doesn't that bother you if you don't  actually live on that road?!

What about the pool?  If we are contribulting to the upkeep we should be able to use the pool when it's convenient for us, within reason, as my grandchildren will certainly be in it.  The people that decided that, have they got children/grandchildren?

What about collating peoples contact emails etc and compiling a letter re the happenings of this meeting.

Perhaps this should have been done before rules and regs were decided.

I am at a complete loss of faith in my fellow man and things are starting to get personal which when I took on the position I did so because no one else would and the meeting was going into melt down (remember people had travelled over for the meeting but remember it was voted for by the majority at the meeting (not just friends) a Spanish rep was also appointed

First of all the meeting was minuted and a copy of this should be sent to all as Taray have handed over all our contact addresses to our support company

The pool has not been handed over and there is a list of conditions which I will be putting before Taray i.e. Cleaning, safety equipment, and the possible replacement of the grass with a safe people friendly surface, The site also has not been handed over, some of the estate is still on temp power and Taray have the habitation foms still in the office

I am also involved with setting up OUR community  with our support company, and please believe me when I say every street/house means the same to me

Last but not least I am going to set up a Taray only meeting for all to have their say this may take a few weeks

As an ex president of another comunity, i feel I would like to make a positive coment.

I beleive Mr Weir is a very brave man to take on the responsibility and belive the owners should back him in a posative sense, after all the position is a non salaried position and initially he will have a mountain to climb. The setting up of the comitee should not be seen as a fate de compli but as a medium to move forward and nurture the future succes of the comunity.

Some of the coments made so far have been quite shameful, especially as the real facts have not yet been published. Dont go the same way as a lot of other communities, act as a team and back your president / comitee for the future of your comunity.

As the president says, anyone who would like to take the job on, can put their name forward for the next AGM or call an extra- rdinary meeting, (I bet there are no offers)

This morning I thought what the hell am I putting up with this for I am retired and have had 40 yrs. of battling at supervisory and management level

Then I started to get positive replies from people who I had either clarified things to or who had read between the lines that theres more to setting this community up than meets the eye, then the letter from a guy who has done it and is outside our box looking in nails it spot on,

I will continue to give it whatever until the people who obviously can do better line up before us

P.S. And it is spot on about time and cost, and I have only been in the job for a few days

Now I know everything on our site is not perfect and having watched my house grow from dirt I have come to relise that Spain is not as perfect as I would have liked and this latest issue is just something else to get over, so here we have a normal guy trying to help from the onset because no one else wanted the job putting his name forward to do an IMPOSSIBLE task, if we as a group of people do not support him who else will do the job and where would we be then, so give the man a chance, we all have issues regarding the development but sometimes there is a bigger picture to look at not just our own.

Colin, I for one would like to thank you for taking on the role, and look forward to hearing from you.

I have just read all the comments made, and I am shocked at the way people have reacted to the so called news we have heard about the development.  Colin has stepped forward when no one else would take the role.  If people are not happy with this they should have been over and voted themselves.  I know this is difficult for alot of us, but the paper work was sent to everyone and should have been returned, if not to someone on site it could have been returned to Taray to take to the meeting.  As for voting for Colin, he is on site full time and wants the best for the development, its in his interest as well to make sure everything we expected from Taray is complete.  There is alot of people on site and not everyone knows everyone else so someone has to brave to take on this role.  I will support Colin as I know he will look out for all our interests.  As for the Pool, nothing has been received in writing about what the rules are so please everyone chill.  Its a family development and therefore all things will be taken into account to try and please everyone.
