Ok the rules are this that every one has a vote if you are not able to be present then you can vote on issues by proxy however this falls down when people do not get informed prior to the vote of the points to be voted on yes the majority at the meeting voted in regulations but the vote should be nul and void because it broke the rules in efect illegal as the othere members where not given any of the issues on which the regulations where being voted on pior to the vote  and therefore had there rights disregarded the corect procedure would have been to apoint a temporary president adjerne the meeting contact all the owners with the rules on which to vote and the options decided on re book the meeting and hey presto a correct result to which everybody would have no problems i personaly have no problem with this colin being president  but the last vote on rules at the pool should be taken again in the correct way i therefore call on our president to issue a exact ballot to the owners and allow them there full rights on these issues and allow the true results then everybodie will have no problem

I think i am missing something here, have details of the meeting been posted on this site? If so, where? I have picked up snippets but wonder where the original information came from. What rules have been set up for the pool?

Good luck Colin and thank you for taking on the role, I am sure there were not too many people brave enough to take it on.

I look forward to receiving official details of the meeting, it gets very confussing reading bits and pieces on a site like this as i think peoples emotions take over and the facts become somewhat distorted.

The notices regarding the residents commitee were posted according to standard practice in this part of Spain - on common walls and fences around the development and in our postal boxes. This is just the same as for public notices here in Scotland. Those residents who choose not to live in their properties full time have no business blaming anyone else for their lack of knowledge. None of those attending the initial meeting had any obligation to those who did not turn up - unless of course they had assigned over their voting rights. No rules were broken and all that has transpired is perfectly legal and worthy. I'm sure that our elected officials will ensure that all property owners are contacted directly in future (as long as those owners wish to be contacted and provide contact details) and I'm sure they will accept any business that those owners wish to be heard by the committee. Personally I commend Colin for accepting such a daunting challenge. You have our full support, Colin.

I agree with Martin that the behaviour of some of the correspondents below is shameful and I feel obliged to apologise to all those who attended the meeting (with the good intention of doing their best for the whole community) for this shameful display.

I look forward to seeing the minutes of the meeting.

Rubbish even yhe people who attended did not know they where going to vote and when an issue is to be voted on then the subject and the options should be circulated to every owner as we all know from the summer and the comments about pool use sertain individuals where allways going to try and get there own way and for the present lets hope democracy prevails they may have nothing to worry about the result could be exactley the same but would be fair

I think the time has come to draw a line under what has happened. What's done is done. Let's all not forget why we all probably bought our holiday homes - TO RELAX AND AVOID STRESS. I bet our spanish neighbours are not getting as worked up about things. I admit I was pretty incensed when I thought someone was trying to introduce a rule to say children should not be allowed in the pool at all but once Colin clarified the true position the compromise seemed fair to me. To please everybody there will need to be compromises.

Hopefully now opinions have been aired agendas can be drawn up for future meetings so any important decisions can be voted on although the committee will need to be trusted to a certain extent because practically speaking it will not be realistic to call meetings for every minor decision.

I think we all need to put our trust and faith in Colin and support him now as he has taken on a role nobody else wanted. At the end of the day given that he is a resident I am sure he will want to act in the best intertests of the community and for a bloke who has retired to the sun I bet he could do without all this hastle.

So let's move on and get on with enjoying the reason why we all decided to buy in Balsicas.

Regards to all,

Debbie & Dave
