Hi everyone,
just thought I would let you know that a couple of months back, our patio door shutters looked as though they had been sliced open with an attempt to get in to our apartment. We replaced the blind and trying not to be bad-minded, we thought that it was more likely just a weakness in the plastic.
However, this has happened again recently to the same blind, in the same place and it looks like another attempt at getting in whilst the place was empty. I think that properties facing the village are an easier target for low-life keeping an eye on which properties are occupied and when. They are probably hoping to catch vulnerable holiday makers, leaving their money and passports in the properties.
There is no point being paranoid though as over the years, professional burglars have perfected getting into properties with grills and alarms etc, if they are determined enough. It happens in the UK too.
I find the biggest problem is that some people in the blocks are complacent in leaving the security communal door open all day, which will most likely affect any insurance claims that may have to be made if these robbers do get in to the properties. I for one bought one of these thinking they were more secure when unoccupied because of the security door.
