Some pointers on how to .... that we've experienced..
A taxis cost 17 Euros from Fuengirola but the taxi drivers don't yet know where the urbanisation is. " Nacho Playa, Peppers Restaurant, Unicasa flags" and the Miraflores turn off further up the road are helpful landmarks.
Maribel and Blands at Alhamar Decoracion did a great job including furniture, shower surrounds, lights, patio door locks - you name it. V. reasonable prices and labour included.
Local "Electrodomestico" in Fuengirola did a good price on a job lot of white goods T.V. etc., and included delivery, installation and testing plus offering to change anything not suitable and a full guarantee. We didn't think Eroski wanted to know us once they'd got our money and of course delivery and everything else is extra with them - like being back in the U.K.
Our Solicitors DA COTTA / SANTAFE down the road have english speaking staff and are on the ball. Excellent service from them - they're handling another half dozen completions. Also do wills and financial advice/ tax.
I was interested to see on another thread that the Club Miraflores is worth a visit - we'll give it a go.
Car Hire - usually book on internet from U.K with "Holidayautos" a car hire brokering arm of last-minute.com - a 2 door for 5 days is £45 all in. This time they gave us a 4 dr Citroen 1.4.diesel and I paid 20 Euros extra to cover the 150E excess this time ( does not include keys and tyres ) and 40 E for a full tank. Return it empty or ask for a refund - Niza were the car company this time and they gave me a 20 E refund when I asked. Moral - nothing for those who don't ask. Centauro by comparison were dreadful and gave us 2 duff cars. Crown car hire ( German )were good, as were Ben..something, a Spanish firm.
.If anyone else has any useful tips to help us all I'd be interested.
