Hola everyone. We are new to this forum although have been reading the blogs.
Having just completed on Jardine 2 we returned back to England to prepare for our final retirement in Spain.
Whilst we were there we met Tracy and Mark Stephenson on Jardine 10 who have offered help on this forum previously. They are a very nice couple and extremely helpful and professional. We have used them to help with our first clean and fitting lights. They hold our keys so they can be there for our air con installation. I can recomend them to anyone needing help as their costs are reasonable with a high standard.
They can be contacted on 0034693580524 or send them a private message on the forum.
We will be returning mid September when we look forward to meeting our new neighbours especially now the bar will be open.

Carol and Charlie

That's the theory. I suppose we will find out one way or another tomorrow. How did your first snag go . Which side of me are you as you face the pool?

We haven't heard anything yet- but judging by the amount of time the Solicitor was spending at the various Notaries its hard to imagine her getting near a computer! Still got fingers crossed it all goes ahead today.

Spoken with Carol (angelbabe) today about a builders clean, so have that sorted. Just cant wait to get back over in October.

Hi Jackie

Thanks for the welcome we arrive on Jardine 2 J0207 on the 14th September. We look forward to meeting you and swapping stories of our experiences in reaching this goal.

Being new to the forum we find it very strange how the subject of my thread soon changed as others used it to communicate and advertise services, Carol "Angelbabe" seems a very busy lady but still has time to answer all the threads. (Ha Ha just an example of our Yorkshire sense of humour)

See you all in the bar soon
Carol and Charlie

Hi PGM

I like your response.

Don't you think this is becoming a vehicle to be a chat room, and a advertising oportunity for some, and driving away the possible contacts that people on Condado need to find to gain usefull information?

We have heard from several people who are already shutting off from this forum for this reason. This would be a shame now that we have just started to get involved to help other owners on Condardo who are experiencing the same problems we have had.

We have just taken early rertirement  to enjoy our life in Spain and would like to help anyone , without exploitation, to do the same.

Regards
Carol and Charlie

Hi Carol and Charlie

Firstly welcome to the forum, I am surprised at you saying you have heard from several people who are already shutting off from this forum, as I have been on this forum for a long time and others even been on even longer. I know most of the regular contributors to the forum and I am not aware of any of them saying they are not happy with the contributions of others or leaving, in fact the numbers of people contributing on this forum has increased dramatically over resent months. EOS do not allow advertising in your posts but you can recommend people who you know to be good, or if you are a business you can state this in your signature bar at the bottom of the page, Justin is very strict on this. Almost everyone on this forum has something positive to contribute and over the years and months we have all learnt a great deal from each other. Most of us on the forum have become great friends even though lots of us have never met each other, hopefully you both will soon become part of this new friendship. If anyone has a problem they let the rest of us know and if anyone with relevant information or expertise can help, they do, or maybe just a word of support or sympathy is offered. Along the way we sometimes get a bit giddy and have a laugh a chat and a joke and the thread loses its point, but when its necessary we rally together. If you haven’t found useful information hear I am amazed or maybe you haven’t been with us long enough to appreciate it, or maybe the forum isn’t what you are looking for, which would be a shame as we welcome all I hope, in open and honest debate, Most threads that are a blatant attempt to advertise something don’t last long and ones that are recommended regally are recommended usually for good reason. Hope this helps and hope you stay with us and contribute often, but if not nice to have communicated with you.

Regards

Phil

Wow
not the  response I was expecting.
just saying that the threads seem to get lost by others chat.
The origional thread was hopefully supposed to help others on Condado to get started as we needed help, is this not the case?

Hi Carol & charlie

Sorry if I have offended you, I didn’t intend to.  I though I gave quite a measured response to the comments you made about blatant advertising and lots of people leaving the forum, if I have got this wrong I am sure others will let me know, as that’s what we do. All genuine help freely and honestly given is appreciated.

Phil

Hi Folks

With regard to cleaning and keyholding you won't go far wrong using Angelbabe (Carol) having been on here for many months now am sure like others you feel you know her already but having been out last month and actually meeting her I have no issues with leaving Carol to handle my clients arrivals end of stay cleans etc etc.

Hi all,
Room for everyone on the forum and, given the number of properties on Condado, plenty of room for a few competing businesses.
Threads do lose the point sometimes but only rarely go too far.
Let's keep it positive - no need for anyone to be defensive about different recommendations on service providers.
Looking forward to meeting you all - should be some interesting conversations over the bar !

Hi Carol or Charlie,

Maybe you didn't intend your entry to come across as it appears to have been taken but I also thought it was a little off referring to the forum as a chat room as I have a very different meaning in my head of a chat room and it is not this forum.  So you may not have intended your message to be taken at all like that.  I have to agree with Kev in that there is room for everyone on this forum and yes some of us do tend to get a bit giddy at times but surely we are allowed.....?  Lets all have a laugh and when needed we will be serious but we should all make some excellent friends on this forum and I suspect in some cases may become lifelong friends......  You are very welcome to this forum

Woo hoo ................. Cadburys Caramel

I'll break away from catching up on the latest ''Criminal Minds'' episode to comment. God knows how they'd profile me, the people at Durham Uni Business School failed miserably 10 years ago and sent me back to work, but then again they were from the North East

Charlie, you are correct in that some threads go off track, this one in particular in my opinion. Having 'admin'd' a few forums this always happens when a site gets popular and you get a complete mix of people and you get a bit of posting giddiness, we're all guilty at times and i admit that i switch from deadly serious to out and out nutter and a lot of stuff i post is irrelevant but designed to lighten the load............... we're on this planet to enjoy it after all .

What I'd always recommend is that anyone new to a forum takes a couple of hours at least to open up all threads and try and get the 'feel' of the forum before posting, that way the newbie/lurker (I always lurk for a few weeks before posting to get the feel) will also see what has been discussed before and will find many questions already answered, and the point about threads is that they are permanent and can always be brought back to the top (unlike a chat room which dies with the moment) ............. see cut and paste below.................. Mark Stephenson - here since the start and open about future plans, just not vociferous posters on this thread along the way.

Good luck to all. it's frustrating and infuriating at times, and there is both a lot of info and frivolity on this site, but what is missing is a 'sticky' post at the top which gives that initial advice on every sub forum........... it would help a lot.

I think some of you will be spending some time on the naughty step if you can't be nice to each other.
