I have just read Mike Lord's posting on the thread about transfers from Alicante airport and I have to say that it worried me. I would be concerned about the issue of illegal or uninsured transportation for visitors to Roda from Murcia airport. Although it is a short journey accidents can happen anywhere.
It appears from Mike's posting that the issue of transfers from airports is one of the cars being uninsured to provide a taxi service which a transfer essentially is. I would imagine it is like the UK and you need to have your vehicle insured as a public service vehicle if you are offering transportation. This should flag up a potential problem to any owners using a rental agent for transfers to and from the airport.
I am using an agent to rent my property at Roda but did not agree to any airport transfers as I had worries about the insurance issue for both them and my renters if anything happened. I work in the insurance sector in the UK and the problem of illegal taxis is a big issue here.
I am sure that a lot of rental agents even the most prominent and well advertised ones would need to look into this and I suggest that anyone providing transfers for renters read Mike's post just below and ensure that your agent has adequate and appropriate insurance cover as it could come back to you if you arranged the booking. For you rown peace of mind ask them to send you through a copy of their insurance covernote so that you are covered and can prove that you raised the issue. Otherwise I would suggest that you do like I do and tell renters to take a taxi for fifteen euro or rent a car which is very reasonable in Murcia.
Thanks to Mike this could save you some money and your renters a lot of hassle.
