WARNING - PLEASE LEAVE THE POOL MECHANISM ALONE!
 
Dear All
 
I have been informed by Quara that when the pool pump was (finally) fixed, someone subsequently tampered with the filter tap and broke it - hence the chemicals did not work and the pool remained green.  The pool technician has since repaired it once again, but he is fed up with people at La Canada trying to fix problems themselves and will now padlock the cabinet housing the pump mechanism.  Quara point out that if the system is broken when we become a community, or if an unauthorised person tampers with it so that the warranty is invalidated, WE will have to foot the bill for the repairs - SO PLEASE DO NOT MEDDLE WITH THE POOL SYSTEM - even if you think you know what the problem is!!!

Sorry to have to pass this message on as i now seem to have become unwittingly a Quara spokesman and i can only re type the original text and pass it on - i am not saying what Quara is reporting is correct or not it is only the facts as reported to me...so please dont shoot the messenger - thanks.

Thanks for the information regarding the Pool  

So is the pool in use now?  Steve and I are coming out on 22nd for 10 days so if you need our help with anything regarding the development please let us know.  We are at No 72.

I do think all this hassle is just teething problems and I look forward to the development being finished and our community being set up.  Regardless of all the problems we love being at La Canada and  will be out there as often as we can.

Not sure if it is in use, from what Quara have told me they say it is but whether this is correct is another matter - i hope it is as we are over on the 23rd October for a week - we are number 104.

The pump seems to work but you can not see the bottom or not even the lamps clearly. We came Sept 10 so we cant say if any progress has happened. Will monitor the siuation and keep you informed on this thred.

I have been told by Quara that the pool condition was due to the bad weather (rain) etc - i find this a little difficult to believe but as i am not there i would be grateful for any pics and discription to be posted showing any problems so i can report these back to Quara and press for the conclusion of the pool issue.

As we all know, the main problem was the broken pump and the time it took to repair it.
It has not been any rain since the pool pump was repaired. Temperature last week has been between 17 and 33 degC.
Probably fault was a broken capacitor because one such has been disposed aside. The pump is running on timer.
 
The pool at phase 1 is perfectly clear but ours is still very bad. No progress.
Could be a good thing if the pump was running continuously as I think it does in phase 1.

I think that i am at the end of being a go between as i no longer believe anything Quara tell me - please email and visit Quara and demand the pool situation be resolved as patience at my end has run out as i am sure it has at yours - clearly the cooperative approach just does not work, I have told Quara the same today with no reply as yet!

We have once again contacted our agent to complain.  Their reply is as follows:
They have informed us that the state of the swimming pool is the consequence of last weeks rains. Please note that the swimming pool has been fully repaired, however last week we had dirty rain which caused the damages on the water. The builders have informed us that once all the water in the pool has run through the filters it will be clear again.

So now we know, the problem is dirty rain!  

The trouble is that we complain to our agent who talk to Quara and Quara can tell the agent anything and they accept it.  

Frustrating isnt it!                                               Bob & Yvonne

Funny that the dirt only effected the pool in phase 2. Phase 1 pool is perfectly clear!

I have asked the builder to run the pump and filter continuously. Have not got any firm answer on that.

Still not clear, but you can see the tile pattern in the bottom and just read the name of the responsible company. Filter pump still on timer so I have e-mailed L. again about running the pump continously, but no answer so far.

The water is today reasonable clear and my opinion is that it can be used for swimming.
