Does anyone know if any of the properties on La Canada have habitation certificates?  And what the implications are if they haven't?  Is it normal for properties in Spain to be sold without them, or is it OK to buy property as long as the builder/developer has applied for the habitation certificate?

Part of the condition for our mortgage with Halifax Spain was a 'First Occupational License', presumabily the same thing?  We completed on February 14 (valentines day by candle light!) with no problems.  I seem to remember being told at the Notary we would have to wait upwards of 2 years for some of the documents, deeds etc.

You should get habitation for your house soon after purchase.

But  you will not get habitation for the urbanisation until all the work is finished, sometime after September 2008??

According to the Town Hall, habitat will not be given as long as Quara/Villamartin has not completed the area. I have heard that there is also a preliminary habitat document for each property. Does anyone has more info on that?
