Sending photocopies of Cards

 

Hi All

One or two people have mentioned having to supply photocopies of both sides of Credit/Debit cards when making orders over the Internet in Spain I like you wouldn’t wish to do this but if it was unavoidable you could do the following.

1. Order goods
2. Supply photocopies of cards
3. Watch bank account to see payment has been made
4. Phone card provider or bank and say you have lost or damaged your card and ask for a new one to be issued.
5. Then cut up the card
6. This will have the affect that the card you sent the copy of is then useless and you will be sent a new card.

Downside is its not the perfect solution and you will be without the card until the new one arrives.

I would only suggest doing this if absolutely necessary, I had to do it when applying for a Visa for China and without supplying the photocopy they would not issue the Visa. So this isn’t a recommendation just an option if you have no other alternative.

Great idea Phil - Actually it could work out quite good for us - One of cards is due to expire at the end of Oct, so by then we will know if our completion has gone through and will be able to put this into practice - Many thanks ----PS Went to have a look at your garden while we were there, it's looking very nice, especially the pool, for some reason it looks bigger than others, probably an optical illusion, not sure, but looking good - Martyn did take photos in garden 8 as well as ours but have to wait and see if we can upload these, new camera
