Just returned

Hi All 
Have just returned after 2 great weeks in our apartment weather was very good ,all the other blocks are coming on fine block two I would say is all but completed the grounds look very good , blocks 4/5 are still being worked on and even the local housing and comercial centre where a hive of activity,
Having read the forum on returning it is quite sad to see that they are selling the apartments at a really low price, but I would rather them sold at that price than stand empty at least with them taken they will be looked after. They are still having problems with the garage gates,we are in blocke 5 and the gate there would not close twice in the two weeks we stayed ,but enen more worrrying was the bottem gate on block 7 this was open most of the time. so what is the point of having security gates if they are left open  the same applies to the small gates I think these need some sort of spring to close them as lots of them are being left open ,I do not think in the present climate that Arenal will pay for them so once we are running the place ourselfs we may have to pay for it , ( any thoughts on this ).
Regarding the road the day before we left they had laid the tarmac and it only need the last top coat to complete the actual road,  they where still working on the paving and seemed to be really getting on with it , so hopefully it will not be that long.
Have taken some photos and will post them these consist of the road and the grounds at the back of Block 2.

hi robbie, glad you enjoyed your stay.  its great isn't it.   hope all that bad weather didn't catch you out there.   will watch out for your pictures being put on.

anyway, i agree about the gates, although i have to say that whilst i was there all of august the gate was being left open during working hours by mainly workers so they could come in and out.   the security guard always closed them all in the evening.  hopefully, the residents, once in that is, will be vigilant in closing them as security will be our own problem then.

As far as paying for them, maybe we should vote all the bargain buyers we are hearing about shout pay for them, they have so much cash left over!!!

The road's coming on then.  Your photo's made me want to book a flight straight out there Robbie. Have to wait till New Years Eve though. My sister is out there for a couple of weeks this Saturday GRRRR... I'm jealous. Did you have any problems with electricity or water?  Margo

With regards to any problems with water and electric the only time we had a problem was the morning we were leaving the electric went off but only for about half an hour ,
I thing the generator had run out of fuel because the lights began to flicker before they went out .
How we wish we where there now ,

Thanks Robbie for the photos, Phase 2 is coming along nicely, surely it cannot be too long until they release it as the road situation will not impact on phase 2.  How I wish I was there, been home a month now and longing to go back. 

We just got back yesterday after a lovely 2 weeks and booked our tickets with BA for next September last night.  Met Robbie, Barbara, Steve and his Mum & Dad, Ken & Lyn.  We even managed to get our snagging completed after a bit of a struggle.  We had 3 guys in on Tuesday and Wednesday and all is well (apart from the roof above the juliet balcony).  It would appear that there is a problem with these and they have to get an architect to re-design.juan turned up with a key for the lift door in the garage.  we didn't actually relise we needed one until 2 weeks ago.They are doing something with the 2 pools which aren't working (still nothing with the big one).  Last Friday, Diego was down in the machinery with buckets of chemicals so hopefully you will all be able to swim in those pools soon.  Gardens look great.  They have started putting lights down the Penoncillo road.  They are messing about in the electricity sub stations, or whatever they are.  We will be glad to go on a meter.  The builders supply may be free, but it isn't reliable.  We probably lost power 5 times while we were out and of course you lose the water as well because its pumped.Can't wait to get back out for the New Year.

Tracey, I think this is the case.  The centre of gravity is wrong for the fixing at the top.  We looked around at a few others last week and they are either pulling away or have been bodged back.

We are going out on 3rd November for our first stay(almost 5 years from our date of purchase!). We are staying for a whole month so if anyone wants anything checked out we will be happy to oblige. Getting very excited already!

Hey Fossie that is great news and staying a whole month...fantastic!   I 'm working on my boss to let me have some annual leave in Nov so will probably see you out there.

A whole month! I'm jealous. But congratulations though. Hope you like it as much as most of us seem to!  Just heard from my sister - she's having a great time but there are quite a few  electricity and water cut-outs. Shame that, eh? Especially if you're watching telly or cooking dinner......

Thanks for the photos Robbie - the best we've seen of Phase 2 so far. Keeps us going. Can you tell me what time of day you took photos 3,4 and 5 please? Just interested to see what time of day the pool and backs/front of apartments are in the sun and shade.
