Commuting from the UK.....anyone doing it?

Is there anyone out there that as bought on the El Rincon plot who would like to share their experiences,we are due to complete early next year and would like to make friends and connections before we get there, any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Well we are passing contracts tomorrow but our friends who are going to look after it for us went a took a peek today and said that it still resembles a building site!  Lifts not working.  Can't use parking space as full of builder's materials and all the stairs covered in rubble etc.  No one is staying in any of the apartments as far as they could see so it would be a bit lonely for anyone moving in just now.  We are so upset as we had people moving in for 2 weeks on 10 Dec but now have decided to let them stay in our villa at Entre Naranjos instead as we don't even know if our apartment as been furnished and equipped yet!  I will be on to the lawyer tomorrow.

I know when it is all complete it will be lovely - apparently the pool is gorgeous even with a working waterfall, but why on earth would they complete that before the apartments.

We wish you well with yours.  Obvioiusly by next year it will all be gorgous.  Keep in touch

We're not completing until Easter at the earliest, phase 2 so we would be interested to know how anyone gets on with phase 1 completion, hope the site clears up soon and looks as good as the pool. We would be interested to know if there is much in the way of snags and how best to deal with those areas, obviously once you are due to complete.

If anyone has any photos that they would care to share that would be great as we are not due out until April and have seen nothing of the site since August.

Any news on how much the maintenance fees are going to be ?

Hi All,

        We have just arrived home after 6 days in Playa Flamenca area, and also to check up on my girlfriend`s` property, a 2bed 2bath top floor apartment on El Rincon. Maria will be given the keys on Feb 2nd 2007, so phase 1 must be completed by then, although phase 2 still has a long way to go. We managed to sneek into the development to have a look around , and it looks very good  although we didn`t have much time to scrutinise the workmanship. All the car parking spaces were clear of any rubbish, the lift was working, the exterior lighting was working too, the pool area was wonderful, and given time, the grass and flowers will finish it off.

       We asked a young labourer if we could look inside a finished apartment, and much to our surprise said it was no problem!! The room was in a finished condition but still required  a good clean throughout, I noticed that the grouting in the living room/kitchen was stained in areas. The quality inside is much better than the showroom, but noticed that both bathrooms were very dark, due to being an inside apartment.

       I have some photos of the exterior which I will try to put onto this site asap. We will answer any questions if possible.

We are due to fly out on Boxing Day until 6th January.

I would really appreciate any photos after August taht you may have, we are buying in the second phase of El Rincon so do not expect our place to be ready for some time but we are really keen to see how the development has progressed and won't be out until April next year.

Next time I take photos of El Rincon, I will take them with you buyers in mind, as these were taken off my balcony at La Mirada, purely for an historical look at how our view is changing.

Does anyone know of a regular bus from Playa Flamenca to Torrevieja and the times etc.  Also where the stop is in relation to El Rincon.  Also is there a taxi firm in the commercial centre by the apartments?  Thank you - where would I be without you guys.

Hi Yvonne,

Not much help for you on the buses, but they do run along the N332, which is a very short walk from El Rincon. They look like coaches, so are not easy to distinguish. I have seen stops on the N332 and would imagine they are very close to El Rincon as this part of the coast has many shopping places.

As for taxis, although we use a hire car, I have used Orihuella Radio Taxis once. They are licensed, speak good English and were very reasonable. You just phone them and they come to you.

Just look them up on the internet, I did have a phone number, but can't find it now, sorry!

Your photos of El Rincon, presumably taken from your balcony directly look at where we are purchasing so I updates will be of interest.  It's the pics taken in September with the Limo in the bottom of the picture

Hi everyone

We returned from Spain last night after completing on our property ,we were able to stay in our new place as soon as we got the keys,still a lot of muck on the floors which gets trailed inside but the interior finish is excellent,snag list was very small and most of it was sorted before we left.

Earlier this year we put some photos on the shared photo section  Alameda Del Mar but now everyone seems to have settled on El Rincon this is where i will post the next set of pics

Have found the bus time-table that we got when we were in Torrevieja in August. The Bus stop is just up the road, past the roundabout for the complex, heading towards Torrevieja. Don't know if the times have changed since then but I  will scan the timetable into the computer, so if anyone wants one, please email me (bjpym@blueyonder.co.uk) and I'll send it on.

Hi everyone,

I am now in Spain, on my balcony, 72 degs and loving it!

As promised, I will take some more photos of your development and post them here on the site. I have my laptop with me, so watch this space in the next few days!

In the meantime, if anyone has any question that I can help get answered whilst I am here, then I am happy to help. I don't mean that I can go ask the builders things, just general things that I could see and report back on to you.

Today, it looks as if the builders have returned after their Xmas break. As much of the work is happening inside your apartments, I can't tell what they are doing? But I have seen about a dozen men doing the finishing work to the plaster ceiling on one of the stairwells. So they are doing something!

There are also 2 TV ariels on the roof, so not sure if anyone has moved in yet? But when we arrived late last night, although the stairwell lights and garden post lights where lit, it didn't seem to have individual apartment lights on.

Anyway, I will keep having a nose and let you all know what occurring!! I just wish I had someone to be in contact with when our apartment (La Mirada) was being built, I know just how exciting it all is!

There is no way you could have been in there b4 Xmas, we were here in November and the site was no where near finished. However, today they have had loads of top soil delivered and dumper trucks are taking it inot the centre of the buildings so I imagine thatey must be completing your green area around the pool?

The ground floor apartments are only just having thier patios laid.........but be patient, these last things get done really quickly, they are all cosmetic. You will have your keys in no time!

The first night we had our keys, we had a matress on the floor, a hob, TV on the floor and a couple of plastic garden chairs, but we were so excited, it didn't matter! It will be worth the wait, trust me!

Wow, got that oe right I think!

When you get here, go for Liria (White) or Emperado(White also). both are £1 per bottle, but very light to drink, also, heavy in alchohol!
