Hi All,
Has anybody had any problems getting the aircon installed in their apartment?
We have had it fitted this morning but found a leak in the pre installed pipework and we've been told that we will probably need the solarium lifting to find the fault.
The fitter is aware that other people have had similar problems. Just wondered if there was anyone on the forum.

I haven't heard of that issue, but I do know that there have been lots of problems with the pre-install quality. I saw Gary (from Polarair) last week, and he was having to put new wiring through on one that he was doing.

Thanks
We were just wondering if anyone knew how long it would take to get sorted as we wanted to get our furniture delivered in a couple of weeks.
Mike has just spoken to someone else on Jardin 5 who has just found out they have exactly the same problem.
Ted - it was Gary who fitted our aircon for us. He said that he has come across a lot of problems with the pre installation.

the pre fitting is not good.gary can sort it .the downstairs apartements seem worse.if you do have a leak turn off and turn on 2 days later.it may be an air lock.

Sorry George not as easy as that I'm afraid - I wish it was.
Gary has managed to sort most of the problems on Condado but isn't able to sort ours. I think I am right in saying of all the problems he's come across there are
only 3 that he hasn't managed to put right. He did take Mike to the call centre to explain what the problem was and is going to call back in a few weeks to check that all is working.
Gary is very good at what he does and we would definately recommend him. It's just a shame that very few of the installations are straight forward.

Are the problems anything that can be checked by snagging or do they only become obvious when the aircon fitter is doing the work?

Hi Jan
This is not the sort of thing you can check on snagging ,unless your air con is fitted before you snag, and you test it for at least an hour.
We completed on Jardine 5 in August ( 2 bed) and a leak was found in the lounge unit piping (somewhere between the roof and the lounge). Polaris have told me they have sorted it, as Gary could'nt.
We are going back out on Tuesday for 10 days so all will be revealed then.

i would suggest anyone in jardines 5 have the pre air con fitting relooked at before they sign.it seems this is the worst block for this problem
good luck

We are one of the people with problems on Jardine 5, we met Michael Hardy on Friday afternoon - by the pool - nice!
Chillout unable to fit air conditioning as nail through pipework and something to do with gases on another unit. They seem confident that Polaris World will put this right and are going to come back next week complete installation. They took everything over and spoke to Polaris World directly (in Spanish!) about the problems they had found. Better to find out now than have a leak internally in your walls at a later date.
Felt confident in Chillout.
