Hi All,
At last our completion went through today no thanks to our solicitor who was two hours late. If anyone hasn't got a mortgage arranged I would highly recommend the motgage broker who arranged ours, they even attended the completion for us to make sure evrything went through ok.
Regards
Mark and Mandy

Hi Mark and Mandy,
Congratulations to the two of you, we know it's a big relief when the completion's done and dusted. Glad it went reasonably smoothly for you. Have some beer and wine to celebrate and welcome to the owner's club.

hi all we completed yesterday.2 hours in the notary office.the notary went to a lot of trouble to make sure we understood what was going on through an interpreter who was sent by PW and she was very helpfull.completed without a solicitor and the habitation certificate which will be ready in a week or so.PW said they will keep it for us and they will use it to apply for water and electric.we can have builders electric and water anytime, just need to give them advanced warning.
i asked the notary about the parking space and he said it is not in the deeds so there is no tax etc to pay on it and we don't own it.basically anyone can park anywhere and there will be nothing we can do about it.it would be good if we all stuck to our numbered space though.(that is assuming that they will all be numbered).
the NIE collection went ok as has been said before you go for a coffee and then walk past the queue and are handed the document.
snagging was straight forward with only two minor outside faults(fixed the following day)and paint splashes on the floor tiles which we cleaned ourselves.
loking forward to sending the furniture next month and putting it in on the first week in december.
cheers to all
tony and ann naranjos jardin 7.

For those of you who have completed can you give an idea of the extra charges, if any, that were involved such as land registry tax, mortgage tax, and title deed stamp duty. Are most of the charges covered in the initial 40% deposit we paid to polaris? Sorry if I sound clueless but my brother (who I am buying the apartment with) has all the polaris documentation so haven't had the opportunity to look at it for a while.
