We also used the PW service that they offered free for 6 months - but having been out there in August and seeing the number of properties where they left the doors, windows etc wide open, we decided to get our key back from them.  There have been a number of postings on here about PW giving the key to workers to do snagging etc, and then people arriving to find doors left open and even workmen enjoying a siesta on the floor in the bedroom!!!

I appreciate your point that you are only two hours away if anything went wrong, but in reality that doesn't really help much.  Firstly, how would you know that anything was wrong if you didn't have someone going into the property to check?  You might not leave a key for your UK home with anyone when you go away (although we always leave a key with our neighbour) but presumably that is only for a couple of weeks at a time, and presumably your neighbours would help out if there were any problems in your absence.  But in Spain, your property is unoccupied for much longer periods of time and you don't know who your neighbours are, if you even have any at the moment.

We can definitely recommend Carol (angelbabe) who offers an excellent keyholding service - the value of this service has already been proved.  During the recent heavy storms and rain, Carol visited all of the properties that she is looking after to make sure that there were no problems with water getting under the doors of the apartments.  You may have read on the forum that this has been quite a problem in some apartments.  FOrtunately only one property was affected, and Carol helped the renters in that apartment mop up etc.  If that apartment had been yours and it had been empty at the time, you would not have been aware of the problem until you arrived to find your furniture damaged, damp etc etc. 

It is a personal choice but I feel much happier knowing that someone is checking my apartment on a weekly basis and can let me know quickly if there is a problem, and help to sort it out.  Certainly in my job, I could not drop everything to get a flight to Spain and be there within a couple of hours if there was a problem.

We used PW for the free 6 months and they were fine as long as you email permission.

We can recommend Joanne and Rob who are in jardin 10 for keyholding, cleaning and Rob also does any joinery work you may require.  They are a lovely couple and offer an excellent service.  They have kept us updated on the works being carried out on our apartment as we were one of the unlucky ones to have to get our tiles lifted due to water ingress and although we have given the apartment a thorough clean Joanne has made sure it is spick and span again.

We would just like to say a big THANK YOU to Tracy and Mark our keyholders for looking after our property so well. It is so reassuring to know that our property is being so well looked after when we are not there. We turned up last weekend to a spotless apartment, lights fitted and a welcoming note. It made our first night in our apartment such a pleasure.

Nothing is too much trouble for them, they report any faults for us, keep in regular contact by e mail and basically are happy to do anything that's needed.

As well as that they're a lovely couple!

They are now part of Fairways Property Services with Rob and Joanne. Fully legal and can offer everything from keyholding to snagging, furniture packs and interior design.

We have been lucky enough to go with Mark and Tracy formely PAR4 now FAIRWAYS.

Lovely helpful couple who have been a real help, Tracy even lent our kids a few dvd's to watch when the weather was dodgy last time we were out.

  I would highly recommend them, nice having the piece of mind that a smashing service is keeping an eye on the place when we are not there.

As previously mentioned I too would highly recommend Carol Miller.  Hard working, very pleasent.  Now provides anything from a kettle and toaster to fridge/freezer, tv, washing machines.  You name it, she can obtain it.  All at great prices too!
