Yes Bob, and we also beat em 2 nil in the not so distant past, least we forget!!
Auntie Linda, almost forgot, if your idea of fun is walking round cups of tea and playing chess then you can keep San Miguel to yourself!

Hi Bob
The only sad part of England's victory is that The Mighty Arsenal have lost another player for three months. Walcott dislocated his shoulder training with England and will be out for up to three months. I'm gutted!!!

What can I say are you coming to Valencia in Feb when they play Spain it has been chosen as the fans are not racist there, I am sure there will be a coach from the Torry Army if not perhaps us footy fans can organise a trip give us a bell.
Twigit
As you eyes are not as gud as they were I have put this in big arial it is supposed to be the best font to read.
The border of San Miguel is just 10 yards from my house , I could live in the municipality of San Miguel de Salinas or Orihuela but my padron says I live in Las Filipinas, and yes do enjoy a gud cuppa of anything not just tea, so I may turn up in Jumilla you never know

Hi Dave.
I'm gutted as well, Theo will be missed by both Arsenal and England because as was expected, after a couple of years or so, he really was coming into his own, but he will be back. At least we beat the old foe [first time they have lost in Berlin since i think about 1974] and we did it with what looked to be much like our reserve team!
Auntielinda.
Valencia sounds like it could be a good day out to say the least. Yes interested. The only trouble is i would want to see it end up a draw. You see i support BOTH teams now.
Bob.

Dunno if you remember but the rambler beside us, they put pipes in to assit the flow of water down to the beach....that is now completely under-water, and the turn off from the N332 which takes you down to Playa Flamenca and up to mercadona is now flooded also, approx 5ft deep. And the bridge beside the ayuntamiento (Torrevieja side), well the water is 5ft from the top of it.............every where cut off.............! Darren, Darren, young fellow me lad,
Where’s yer Dunkirk spirit? CUT OFF!! "Get a back pack and swim through it man".
At least you’re not carrying a howitzer and 16 stone of ammo like I had to do in 1931 when I swam ashore and started bayoneting the fascists!
In my view, this is what's........................

Auntie Linda do you know Sue and, if so, are you planning to come over together? I don’t know what you’ve got in mind exactly but it's many a year since I experienced the delights of a ménage a trois!
In fact it was in 1945, not long after the Normandy landings, if my memory serves me right!
Anyway, It’d warm the cockles of an old soldiers heart is you both could................

Lots of you have sent me PM’s asking how old I am and to be honest, having been born an orphan, and never knowing any of my family, is that I don’t really know.
The only clue I have to my age is through a relative of mine, Great Uncle Sydney Twigit who served in the Kings Own Light Infantry and was killed in the 7 years war on July 1st 1760.
And I only came across Uncle Sydney because he was mentioned in dispatches and these were sent to me by a well wisher.... I have the original citation right here on the parlour wall.
It reads:
Dear Mrs Twigit,
“I regret to inform you that whilst serving his country, your son, Lance Bombardier Sydney Twigit has been killed.
Unfortunately, whilst Lance Bombardier Twigit was up a tree collecting coconuts he slipped and fell some 60 feet, landing on the horns of a stampeding wilder beast.
Both your son and the wilder beast were badly injured and each later succumbed to a passing pride of lions, which happened to be in the area at the time.
Our sincere condolences,
Captain James A Tool, DSO.
Dated this day....10th November 1751
So your guess is as good as mine!

Hi GAL,
Espana v Inglaterra in February.
Where have you been told that this game is to be played in Valencia? I discussed this matter with my son, who is a member of the England Supporters Club, on Sunday in the Golden Lion pub in Fulham a hotbed of football in SW London.
He did not know where the game was going to be played but he has already booked flights to come over with his wife and daughter to stay with us for a week anyway.
Can you please let me know the details so I can pass this to my son so he can look at booking trains/buses etc for the game?
John
