I´ve received a message from a member asking about options for New Years Eve & thought it would be worth letting other members know....
BE WARNED !!! New Years Eve is a very Spanish family time, so most bars & even restaurants will be CLOSED. But don´t worry, there will be some restaurants that are holding special dinners. Some options are Hotel Costa & Hotel Guillermo in Mazarron. I imagine most will offer a room option too, so no need to order a taxi (if you could even get one). I don´t know for sure, but I expect Hotel Bahia, Le Cumbre, PLaya Grande will also be holding some kind of event.
Not everyone’s cup of tea ...... I do know that (and please this not another request for Camposol bashing), but all the bars on Camposol will be holding "party" nights - but most will be ticket only.
Have fun whatever you are doing

RUBBISH ........I am sorry but you have been mis-informed. New Year is NOT a Spanish only affair, nearly every bar, pub and restauant is open and are very seldom ticket affairs. The English bars tend to enjoy taking on board the Spanish custom of 12 grapes eating on the stroke of midnight with a free class of champagne. It is also customary to welcome in both the Uk New Year and then an hour later the Spanish. There are lots of places to go if you dont fancy Camposol. The port, Cartegena, Los Alcazares, La Manga, Roldan, Covera, Cuevas, Fuente Alamo, Muñoces, Alhama, Totana the list is endless

I stand corrected. apologies....
I can only give my own experience. And on New Years eve my first year here, I had the offer of a ride into Mazarron & thought it would be an opportunity for a tapas crawl. On the morning of the 31st Dec I went to the Saturday market & was chatting to one of the staff in Bar Luiz, I asked what time would they be open tonight..... a resounding NO was the answer, we are closed !! I then started to get worried & asked around.... all of the other bars gave me the same answer ... we spend New Years Eve with our families.... We then headed into the Port & it was very quiet there too. I can´t answer for all of the other places you mentioned, but my message was just a word of warning, probably best to check beforehand rather then get caught out as I nearly did.

I think all the bars on Camposol will be holding some type of event, I think most if not all will be ticket events. Check out this link, there´s a calendar of events & all the bars numbers etc. http://www.visitcamposol.com/
I´ve seen an advert for Rumours Bar holding a "do" at 35€ per person. As I see more I´ll just update this link.
My office is on the older part of Camposol - the left hand side as you´re driving from Condado to Mazarron, I´m next to F&C Car Rental and Alan´s Supermarket, you can´t miss me.

Also, if you know what taxi driver are going to be approx charging on New Years Eve, maybe we could hire a mini bus and all put into it?
