there are some dogs being allowed to roam around Jardins not only of leads but without the owners.

It seems that the dogs are let out for walks on there own so the mess they create cannot be cleaned up.

If I catch a dog messing in my garden again you mayfind it over the fence BE WARNED!!!!!!

Its a great place so lets treat it with some respect.

If anyone knows the owners I would like to be informed and will gladly take it up with them on my return

Neil

Hi,

We stayed on Jardin 12 last week and there was one dog roaming loose one day and also an owner over the other side of the jardin who took his dog for a walk on several occasions allowing him to pee in a few residents hedges along the way. I would certainly have said something had it been near to where we were staying (couldn't get there fast enough unfortunately) but this was another resident in the jardin !

I'm not a dog lover but don't have anything particularly against them (other than I've been bitten before !) but many owners just don't see the issues their behaviour causes.

Hi Neil

You may find a very interesting thread regarding this issue some time ago on the Condado site.

If you give the  details Ie discription to the people in the local office they will soon sort it out.

There is a questionaire in both english & spanish in the reception area of the bar / resturant but unless anyone is interested in what is on the table there  no one will know & of course thay have to want  to fill it out.

Personally I think one of these questionairs should be placed in every ones post box. No one can say they didnt know the law then

The spanish rule re dogs etc , if my memory serves me correctly is that all dogs have to be on a lead at all times.

The issue with a dog previously was a white Germsn Shepard. The owners were given an official warning & could loose their dog if the problem persists

Some people thought the dog in question was a white husky & though there was some positive threas about that dog I have noticed its owner walking it around our Jardin ( 5 )  & though it hasnt done any poo it hax used the trees as a urinal. not sure what the law is about that.

The white german shepard`s owners are reportedly living in Jardin 5 too. but not  too near to us thank goodness.

Dont get me wrong we love dogs & had German Shepards  in the past.

No dogs now. To heart breaking when they become ill.

Its not the dog that is at falt its the dam owners

Jan

Re my previous thread

I had posted a thread on theCondado site after returning home after 2 weeks in Feb & I  stated then that we had seen the shepard & its owners a few times. I will say as i did then that we never saw the dog of the lead except on the waiste ground by jardin 5 but only to let him / her have a run & then always back on the lead. the owners had a plastic bag ( i think ) so it as evedent that they were prepared for emergencys

The only dog I saw in Jardin 5 was as previously mentioned was the Husky.

On an extended lead.

So please do not think I am pointing the proverbial finger at either owner.

Having said that It does appear that there is still a problem  & only time & a watchful eye will sort it out

I totally agree with all the comments. It would be very difficult to stop a dog peeing when being walked through the gardens.

Personally I think it would be better to walk dogs ouside the gardens and not through them. There is plenty of space outside

the garden area . It could also be a problem in the summer walking dogs through the gardens with lots of young children around.

However there is no doubt  that all dogs should be on a lead.

When we last arrived on-site on 12 February, we were greeted by two dogs who were being "VERY friendly" in the middle of the street, not a very nice welcome!

Not sure how long dogs are pregnant for, but watch out for puppies!

That will be good for children to see.

Sex education in one quick lesson.

Not a prude & it is good  for children to know about the" Birds & the Bee`s "but a graphic demonstration is probably not a good idea.

Hi everyone

I've just returned and when I was there I have found we have a rottweiler bitch living in Jardines 8.

Rumour as it he is to do with security and his wife works in PW supermarket.

People in our garden was not impressed either as they have seen the same sort of thing happening!!  Off the lead and doing all sorts of things in our garden.

I only saw it looking over the gate and everytime I came out of my door it kept a beady eye on me with a woof!! It was slightly unnerving as I don't dislike dogs but if the owners are stupid then there could be a problem with the children etc.

Its annoying as all they have to do is walk out of the garden with the dog on the lead and there is so much open space the dog would enjoy far more!!

I will be mentioning this to Victoria the administration again and I think some of the people in Jardine 8 are going to as well.  The quicker they put signs up and 'nip it in the bud' the better!!!

Jackie,

Maybe not a bad thing to have a 'security dog' nearby (unless of course it is kept outside and prone to barking all night in which case it certainly would be an issue for the administrators). As a fellow Jardine 8'er, does it live near us ? I assume it was on a lead within the boundries of their patio/garden - I can't imagine the sapling bushes that we have being enough to keep a rottweiler confined !!

Regards,

Hi Will and Grace

I agree a security guard dog living on our garden isn't a bad thing.  (You just make sure you make friends with it and  have plenty of treats handy!)  he he!

As you face garden 7 its the end top apartment on the left,  facing to your right.  If you know what I mean.!

If I had a rottweiler off the lead in my garden I would hit the roof, my 4 year old daughter is scared of dogs at the best of times.

Surely this against the rules to let a dangerous dog stroll around the gardens?

Hi Danseex

Sorry to hear your little one  is afraid of dogs

You can have so much fun with a dog & though some breeds like Rottwellers, Dobermans & German Shepards get very bad press It Is not the dog or the breed that is the problem It is the owner that is to blame.

This guy.  if he is spanish , knows the Spanish ruling about dogs.

However the dog might have escaped with out the owner knowing.

I think it would be worth someone aproaching the owner  if the dog is seen out alone again,

then they have no excuse

Thanks for the intrest it seems only a small problem that we can get resolved.

\Linsey the two dog you encountered seem to be the ones we had the problems with.

My daughter who is now an adult and also lhas a proprty in Jardins 1 has a dog phobia so I will continue to monitor and would be gratefull for continued infomation

Thanks

Neil
