Booster Seats

Hi

Coming over with two kids aged 8 at Easter and hiring car - dont want to pay for booster seats for two weeks for the two of them with the car hire company,  can someone let me know what age children have to be to stop having to use these.  Dont want them to be in any danger and they will be wearing seat belts, but am hoping they can bring pull along cases with them instead of lugging their booster seats with them from Ireland!

Saw on one website for car hire that booster seats were up to age 8, but dont want to take any risks

In this country a child under I think it is 9 years and depending on height cannot travel in the front passenger seat and i do believe that the car seat i have for my seven year old in suitable for children up to a 9 year old.   Even though your kids are wearing seat belts they may be too small and slip underneath should you be unfortunate to be in an accident, that was why they brought this new higher age and height limit into this country.  I personally wouldn't be taking any chances and we have ordered our booster seat for lucy at Easter & Summer.

Why not take your own with you?leave them over there and use them again and again and again

Asda do some foam ones that fit into the case quite easily, wifey grabbed a couple the other day.

Spanish law does not permit any child under the age of 12 years to travel in the front of a car.  All children travelling in the rear of the car must be placed on an appropriate booster seat or chair which allows for the safe use of the seatbelts provided in the vehicle.  Hope this helps.
